Excellent start. 0-3. I could write paragraphs upon paragraphs on yesterday's disaster, but I think you can imagine my dissatisfaction with the teams and my picks. I was on the wrong SIDES. Which means, I made POOR picks. It is that simple.
Last year, I started 2-0 and went on an 0-4 run after that. Still landed at 67%, so I keep reminding myself that. Talk about being punched in the mouth though.

didn't realize we'd be in a war of attrition this year.
Moving on...
So many more games. I can scarcely count that high. We are, collectively, 0-4 after running it up the past few years. Ain't over til...til i say it's over.

Wow, fellas. I'm still shell-shocked. I like your thinking NVBigdog...let's hope I have enough accuracy like Rivers or else this could prove to be a McNabb type bowl season.

I am on a nice 0-5 streak and I quite honestly, I don't feel up to the challenge of spending the next three weeks breaking down match-ups like So Miss versus Louisville.
As I told a friend last night, I feel like Brett Favre right now, minus the drama hopefully. I am just tired, it is late in the season, I keep forcing game after game and last night, ironically enough...we both went down.
I am going to take an approach this bowl season that yes, is much less exciting, but watch...it will be very profitable.
I am just going to post my top plays today. I am going to jump right into my big unit plays and skip the others...
Good luck to everyone. I hope you have a very profitable bowl season. This was a disappointing year for myself and really my worst year I have had thus far (in 4 years of capping).
Take care. Merry Christmas.
And Skipster...I'm going to place my final bowl picks today as well and let it ride. Best of luck to you!

Here we have a disappointing Washington team who did not live up to expectations. Not sure who placed such unrealistic expectations on this team in the first place, but the season basically went downhill when Nebraska showed up and put a hurt on this team, destroying this team by 35 points in the first match.
Nebraska is struggling offensively after Taylor Martinez went downhill with injury and performance. I think this kid is talented, no doubt. But even with the time to rest, I think this Nebraska team will struggle. They are leaving the Big 12 - they will be focused on the future. They are playing a team they destoryed already once this season. They are also playing a team that has performed extremely well down the stretch. Yes, Washington escaped narrowly against WSU, but that is a rivalry and on the road - I expected a close match-up. They beat Cal on the road the week before, another tough game. They certainly exploded the week before against UCLA. In my opinion, this team is full of confidence and Locker is dedicated to going out on top.
All around, Washington has finally clicked on offense. Their running back combo and balance with Locker in the pocket is going to be a dangerous combination. They will suprise Nebraska, I can assure you of that. Nebraska will score, I have no doubt about that, but I predict a battle of matching scores in this match-up. In my opinion, this will be one of the better bowl games of the entire season. In fact, I think Washington will force this game to go down to the wire...perhaps a 4th quarter game-winning drive will be required by one of these QBs, and I will be more than happy to back Locker in that position over the Nebraska offense.
I'm not a money line player, never have been. But out of all the match-ups on the board this season with double digit spreads, I think this one has the best shot.

This one will not be easy; nothing ever is. But the simple fact remains that Wisconsin shows up as the dog in this match-up, despite the fact that they have:
Beat Ohio State at Home
Beat Iowa on the Road the week following
3 very impressive backs that have each have scored way too many TDs
Broke big 10 and wisky records with 83 and 70 points scored in two of their final 3 games
Won the Big 10 through the BCS tie-breaker
On the flip side, you have TCU, who comes in favored in this match-up. Here is what is bothering folks about this TCU squad:
Boise State lost. Yes, that impacts peoples assessment of these non-qualifying BCS schools
San Diego State nearly upset them on Senior Day at Home
SMU had them on the run for a moment until it fell apart 4th quarter
With all this said - it is easy to see why people are loving Wisconsin with the points here. This should dis-spell all talk when this squad faces off with a real squad from a real conference. In fact, some think Wisconsin is one of the best playing teams in the country. In my opinion, Wisconsin is in for a surprise. TCU is stout against the run and I mean STOUT. They will force Wisconsin to throw the ball and the only other team who did that this year was Michigan State - who proved Wisconsin is beatable. TCU is bigger on the line on both sides of the ball - yes, they are. They are more well-rounded on both sides of the ball, and make less mistakes. They have the ability to hit big plays and they will force mistakes.
I wish I could say this will be an upset, but folks, the better team, the more disciplined team, is already favored. Wisconsin can't run the ball down field, especially when they are down. This will start their decline as they force plays and thus mistakes.

Wow. Oddsmakers are so stupid! I cannot believe they opened Oregon as the favorite in this match-up, only minutes after Auburn crushed South Carolina in the SEC Championship. Vegas oddsmakers really need to bring back the drug and alcohol screening policy because someone was on something! I mean, did you see that game? Auburn dismantled that team; it was a horrible, horrible championship game outside of the fact that I enjoyed Auburn -5 cashing in.
Look, I am going to make this very simple for folks. Oregon is the better team all around. Auburn is extremely impressive - actually, i take that back. Cam Newton is a GOD on that field, and I personally believe there is not a more talented player out there. But at the end of the day, their defense gives up too many plays. They took advantage of the lack of SEC defensive dominance this year and the fact that there was not a stronger offense in the SEC to content. Sounds pretty stupid right? LSU had the strongest defense this year in the SEC and they held Auburn to 24. In order to beat Auburn, you have to have an offense and that wasn't the strength of LSU. Now, Arkansas had the offense to beat Auburn this year...heck, their back-up QB almost proved this, but they didn't have a defense. There was not an SEC team balanced enough to beat Auburn...you would have to look outside of the SEC to find a team with a strong enough balance to content point for point. There are two teams IMO that can beat Auburn. There might be more. But off the top of my head, one would be TCU and the other is Oregon.
Let me just tell you one thing - Auburn got to face off with South Carolina b/c that entire side of the conference was an absolute joke this year. Do yourself a favor at a minimum and forget about that perforamance when capping this game. Remember, that after a month off, and with a month for Oregon to prepare, think about how they will perform? Kentucky almost beat Auburn. South Carolina almost beat them the first time until the Garcia meltdown. Clemson took Auburn to overtime and only lost due to a missed field goal. You can equate this to the almost blunder of a loss that Oregon faced on the road against Cal. On a neutral field, Auburn is going to be extremely challenged by this team.
In short, Oregon will stop Auburn and force them to punt or hold them to field goals just a few more times than Auburn will Oregon. That is all there is to it. In fact, I think Oregon might win in a close one, but there is a chance that I think we see Oregon beat Auburn by 10+. We already have a 6 point advantage from the opening line...enjoy the points here fellas.

Yo, PU. Quite a start after our back-to-back top 10 covers finishes, huh? Past performance no guarantee of future success. At least, we have our own personal vendetta to keep us interested. BOL

I just left you a post...thank gosh it's about you versus me. Because, if it's me versus the rest of the pack, I already lost. Though I am far more negative than you after tonight.
We do have a lot of different picks coming up later next week and for the BCS bowls, so I feel like we will really seem some back and forth at that point.

Pick: Washington +14
Risking: 15 Units
BACK FOR BOWL SEASON STARTING TONIGHT...
I'm down 5 units after my 0-3 start on day 1 and then two blown teasers (where the college legs won easily, but the NFL screwed me!)
I know I only have three plays, but I have identified another one...if Washington wins tonight...I have a huge play on the Bama game.
