David Myers, a 37-year-old teacher from from Nottingham, Maryland, was October's Streak Survivor challenge winner and pockets a cool $1,000 in cash as a reward for his excellent work.
David plays under the username johnnyutah13 and posted an October record of 24-6, picking at a rate of 80 percent on the button. He built his streak predominantly on hockey, picking correctly 15 times in NHL games. He mixed in five MLB games, three NFL games and a sole NBA matchup.
He began his month with a loss on the ice, incorrectly taking the Montreal Canadiens against the Toronto Maple Leafs, but used a stretch of nine straight correct picks later in the month. He closed October with a fantastic run of 11-straight correct picks which has spilled over into November.
"I really like the contests on Covers. You can't complain about a free contest! It makes watching sporting events more fun," Myers said in an email.
