Here are four intriguing matches for bettors to take interest in on Day 4 of the Australian Open:
Roger Federer (1600) vs. Nikolay Davydenko (+900)
Without a doubt the best match in the men's second round. Davydenko is a former No.2 player in the world and holds a win over David Ferrer already this season. If he's on his game, this could be an excellent challenge for Federer. The Swiss legend holds a 17-2 head-to-head record against Davydenko, so an upset would be a monumental win for the Russian underdog.
Serena Williams (-15000) vs. Garbine Muguruza (+2800)
In what would normally be a breeze for the American superstar, big questions remain surrounding her injured ankle. The world No.2 hurt her ankle in her first round match and still it remains a mystery how she will be able to play on it.
Kristina Mladenovic ( +450) vs. Sloane Stephens (-700)
A battle of teenagers in this second round clash. Mladenvovic is a former junior world No. 1, while Stephens got up to as high as No.5. The American (Stephens) has had the better pro career thus far as she's currently the youngest player in the top 40. Which of these teens takes the next step?
Petra Kvitova (-163) vs. Laura Robson (+120)
This is the top matchup in the women's bracket in round 2. Kvitova is a former major winner, but has seen a dip in form of late. Robson is another of the young group of players on the rise on the WTA Tour. She ended Kim Clijsters career at the U.S. Open and is in no way intimidated by a high-ranked player. This should be an excellent back and forth match.
