Browns pick up OL McDonald
The Cleveland Browns claimed offensive lineman Nick McDonald off waivers Tuesday from the San Diego Chargers.
McDonald is a third-year pro from Grand Valley State who has played left guard, right guard and center, appearing in 16 NFL games and starting three.
McDonald signed as an undrafted free agent with the Green Bay Packers in 2010 and was inactive as a rookie. In 2011, he played in four regular-season and two postseason games for the New England Patriots. The next year, he saw action in 12 games and started one for the Patriots, who waived him before the start of the 2013 season. He signed with the Chargers in January.
