The Dallas Mavericks signed free agent forward Eric Griffin, the team announced Friday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Griffin (6-foot-8, 194 pounds) has played in four games for the Mavericks at the Las Vegas Summer League, averaging 9.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 1.3 steals in 19.3 minutes.
During the 2013-14 season, he played seven preseason games with the Miami Heat and averaged 1.7 points and 1.1 rebounds. Following his stint with the Heat, he went on to play internationally with Gauros de Lara in Venezuela and Leones de Ponce in Puerto Rico.
In 2012-13, he played for Fileni BPA Jesi in Italy and averaged 17.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.8 steals in 28 games (27 starts).
Griffin played all 31 games as a senior for Campbell University. He averaged 15.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 2.4 blocks in 30.3 minutes.
