Browns sign third-round RB West

The Cleveland Browns signed third-round running back Terrance West to a four-year contract, the team announced Wednesday.

The 5-foot-10, 225-pound West started 23 of 37 games at Towson before forgoing his senior year.

West rushed for 4,849 yards on 802 carries (6.1 avg.) with 84 touchdowns, while adding 36 receptions for 385 yards and two scores. His 84 rushing touchdowns tied the FCS career record set by Adrian Peterson (Georgia Southern 1998-2001). West recorded 23 100-yard rushing games, including six 200-yard games.

The Browns have signed three of their six 2014 draft selections. The Browns still need to sign their first-round picks, cornerback Justin Gilbert and quarterback Johnny Manziel, as well as second-round offensive lineman Joel Bitonio.
