Chris Froome wins Tour de France, odds on fave to repeat
The 100th Tour de France came to an end as Chris Froome cycled down the Champs-Élysées toward victory.
Froome became the second Briton in a row to win the Tour following 2012 champ Bradley Wiggins. No Brit won the race in the previous 98 events.
Following an exciting Stage 20 where he finished third, Froome just needed to escape disaster Sunday to hold on to the yellow jersey that he'd owned since Stage 8.
Mark Cavendish, who had won the final stage (the portion of the race from Versailles into Paris) the previous four years, was upset by Marcel Kittel of Germany.
Froome opened as the -150 outright Tour de France favorite at the LVH. Bet365 has Froome listed as the -200 fave for the 2014 edition of the Tour de France.
