Iginla traded to Pittsburgh; Stanley Cup odds don't move
The Pittsburgh Penguins' Stanley Cup futures odds stayed put despite acquiring veteran forward Jarome Iginla in a trade with the Calgary Flames Wednesday.
The Penguins, who also added forward Brenden Morrow and defenseman Douglas Murray this week, were +400 favorites to win the Stanley Cup at Bet365.com
Wednesday, and have stayed at that price after the trade was announced Thursday morning. Pittsburgh opened the season as the Stanley
Cup favorite at most books with odds set between +450 and +700 depending on the book.
Pittsburgh is 26-8-0-0 and in first place in the Eastern Conference, riding a 13-game winning streak into Thursday's home date with the Winnipeg Jets. Oddsmakers have the Pens priced as -192 home favorites with a the total at 5.5 goals. Iginla is not expected to play versus the Jets Thursday.
Rounding out the Stanley Cup favorites are Chicago at +450, Boston and Montreal at +800 and Anaheim at +850. The Flames' futures strangely moved from +15,000 to +12,500 after the deal.
