Celtics' Rondo has torn ACL; done for season

Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo has a torn ACL and is out for the remainder of the season.

Rondo took pre-game warmups for Boston’s tilt with Miami Sunday and was a late scratch. He initially suffered the injury during Friday’s loss to Atlanta.

Mike Perry of Sportsbook.ag has moved the Celtics from 28/1 to 35/1 to win the NBA Championship and 14/1 to 18/1 to win the East. Perry also figures Rondo is worth around two points to the spread on any given night. He adjusted the line against the Heat from Miami -3.5 to -5 after hearing news of the injury.

Rondo averaged 13.7 points and 11.1 assists in 38 games for the Celtics.

Boston rallied without their star guard to slip by the Heat 100-98 Sunday afternoon in a game that required two overtimes.
