Australian Open: Semifinal Day 11 betting preview

We’re down to the final four on both sides of the Aussie Open draw.

Here’s a quick breakdown of some of the matches on Day 11:

Maria Sharapova (-450) vs. Na Li (+333)

A battle between the No. 2 and No. 6 seeds kicks off the Australian Open semifinals. Li has had a good week knocking off red-hot Agnie Radwanska in the quarterfinals, but this looks to be a mismatch on paper. Sharapova has lost only nine games the entire tournament and is on some of the best form of her career. The head-to-head vastly favors Sharapova, who is 5-0 on hard courts against China's top women's player. Li has never taken a set off Sharapova on this surface. A Li win would be a major upset.

Victoria Azarenka (-800) vs. Sloane Stephens (+500)

The most anticpated match of the day sees World No.1 Victoria Azarenka take on American teen Sloane Stephens. Azarenka is the defending champion in Melbourne and has turned it on her last two matches after receiving a minor scare from Jamie Hampton in a three-set win in the third round. The 19-year-old Stephens is the talk of the tennis world after advancing to her first major semifinal by beating all-time great Serena Williams in the quarterfinals. Can Stephens continue her magical run to a major title by beating the top-ranked player?

Novak Djokovic (-1200) vs. David Ferrer (+700)

World No. 1 and two-time defending champion Novak Djokovic takes on World No. 5 David Ferrer. If this was on clay, we may see a much different result, but on hard courts this should be a one-sided affair. Djokovic enters this match after a real scare in the Round of 16 before easily disposing of Tomas Berdych in the quarterfinals. Ferrer won a classic match against Nicolas Almagro in which he came back from two sets down before pulling away in the fifth set. Djokovic holds a 10-0 H2H record vs. Ferrer on hard courts including the 2012 Australian Open Quarterfinals and 2012 U.S. Open Semifinals. Anything but a comfortable Djokovic win would be a surprise.

It's actually Djoko up 8-2 on HC. You might want to do some research next time.
