With Italy shocking Germany 2-1 in Thursday's semifinal, the stage is
set for Sunday's championship match between Italy and Spain.
The Azzurri frustrated the Germans throughout the match and the dynamic Mario Balotelli struck for a pair of goals to put Italy through to Sunday's final match of the tournament. LVH Superbook made Italy a +160 outright underdog to Spain, set as a -180 favorite.
In 90-minute plus injury time betting, LVH has Spain listed at +110, Italy at +300 and the draw at +210.
“If Italy do advance, they will find it very difficult to recover for yet another big game on two-days rest, against a team that wears its opponents down with passing and possession,” Aron Wattleworth of bet365.com told Covers before Thursday's semifinal match. “If the intangibles of the pressure and stage of a European final weren’t taken into account in the price, then Spain would be bigger favorites against Italy on another day.”
At bet365.com, Spain is currently a +115 favorite against the Italians, who are priced at +275 in the 90-minute odds. Spain is at -188 to hoist the Euro Championship trophy, with the Azzurri listed as +150 underdogs.
