Blues-Kings total at 4.5; Trend leans towards over

Oddsmakers have posted a rare 4.5-goal total for Game 3 between the St. Louis Blues and Los Angeles Kings Saturday.

The first two games of the series have both ended in 2-1 victories for the Blues.

Since the 2006 playoffs, the first year for the playoffs after the lockout, there have been 24 games with a closing total of 4.5 goals. Those games have finished 17-7 over/under with half taking place in the first round of the postseason.
