Rain could make things messy for Monday Night Football

Nov 12, 2012 |
It will be a wet and wild night with rain in the forecast for Pittsburgh, where the Steelers host the Chiefs on Monday Night Football.

There is a 100 percent chance of the wet stuff tonight, with showers expected to pick up in the second half. Temperatures will drop into the mid-40s with winds blowing WSW at 11 mph.

Heinz Field has long been regarded as the worst field in the NFL, as voted on by players, especially when the natural grass surfaces gets wet. The Steelers share the surface with the Pitt Panthers and numerous local high school football events.

Oddsmakers have tagged this final game of the Week 10 slate with a 40.5-point total, which opened as high as 43 last week. Kansas City has played over the number in five of its eight games while Pittsburgh has gone under in five of its eight contests.

Eight of Sunday’s 12 matchups topped the total. The over is 5-1 in the past six meetings between the Chiefs and Steelers.

Pittsburgh is a 12.5-point home favorite Monday night.
