Alexis Lafreniere and Matt Rempe each scored one goal to lift the New York Rangers to their 10th consecutive victory, 2-1, over the host Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday.

Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin stopped 39 shots, including a couple of nifty ones in the final two minutes with the Flyers using an extra skater with an empty net.

The Rangers won 10 straight games two other times in franchise history -- 1939-40 and 1972-73.

Tyson Foerster scored the lone goal for the Flyers.

Philadelphia played without Travis Konecny because of an upper body injury.

Flyers goaltender Samuel Ersson made 22 saves.

Morgan Frost and Sean Couturier each had stellar scoring chances in the final two minutes with Ersson pulled. Couturier's shot landed through the crease with about five seconds left.

Philadelphia equalized one-all at 2:36 of the third period when Foerster received a pass from Scott Laughton and scored. Laughton was on his back behind the net but somehow was able to get the puck to Foerster.

Rempe scored his first career goal at 6:31 to put the Rangers ahead 2-1.

Travis Sanheim skated in short-handed from center ice all alone at 10:13 but was denied on the backhand by Shesterkin.

The game immediately turned physical with a fight at 3:00 of the first period between Philadelphia's Nicolas Deslauriers and Rempe.

Joel Farabee had a terrific scoring chance at 11:13, but Shesterkin was able to corral the wrist shot.

New York's Vincent Trocheck found himself open in front at 14:55, yet fired the shot just wide.

The Rangers came out aggressive in the opening four minutes of the second period but couldn't capitalize on a power play and several other opportunities.

Philadelphia's Garnet Hathaway was called for a double minor for high sticking against K'Andre Miller at 8:47. Laughton nearly connected short-handed just 19 seconds in as he ripped a shot off the crossbar.

Ersson stretched out his pad and robbed Lafreniere at 11:07.

Lafreniere put the Rangers ahead 1-0 just 49 seconds later as he notched his sixth goal in the last 10 games.
