Sahvir Wheeler recorded the first triple-double in Georgia program history as the Bulldogs cooled off LSU 91-78 on Tuesday night in Athens, Ga.

Wheeler, a sophomore who was coming off scoring a career-high 27 points in a loss at Florida on Saturday, finished with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists against the Tigers.

Toumani Camara contributed 22 points and 10 rebounds for Georgia (14-9, 7-9 Southeastern Conference). K.D. Johnson scored 21 and Tye Fagan had 18 as the Bulldogs won for just the second time in five games.

LSU (14-7, 9-5) saw its three-game winning streak end and fell out of a second-place tie with idle Arkansas.

Cameron Thomas scored 21 points, Javonte Smart had 19, Trendon Watford added 13 and Jalen Cook 11 to lead LSU, which had beaten the visiting Bulldogs 94-92 in overtime on Jan. 6.

LSU, which was coming off a 104-80 victory over Auburn on Saturday, averaged 92 points during its winning streak before struggling against the Georgia defense.

Watford's basket started the second-half scoring to get the Tigers within 14, but minutes later Fagan's 3-pointer gave the Bulldogs a 52-33 lead.

LSU got within 14 points twice more before Wheeler assisted on three straight Georgia baskets. The lead soon grew to 69-47 midway through the half.

The Tigers whittled the deficit down to 12 with 4:59 left, but P.J. Horne responded with a 3-pointer.

Both teams started slowly on offense as Smart's jumper gave the Tigers a 7-4 lead nearly five minutes into the game.

Fagan and Justin Kier scored five points each as the Bulldogs used a 10-0 run to grab a 14-7 lead.

Smart made a 3-pointer and assisted on a Mwani Wilkinson dunk as LSU twice pulled within one point before going cold.

Fagan and Camara each scored six points during a 16-1 run that gave Georgia a 40-24 lead.

Smart made a 3-pointer to end a five-minute field-goal drought for LSU, but the Bulldogs pushed their lead to 45-29 at halftime.
