They wanted a 300% increase merely one year from completing a leaguewide shutdown due to money shortages.
maybe the players who were cut could pool their resources and buy a team and then see it from the otherside.
there is always more to the equation than "show me the money"
If the feds ran the league the players would have gotten a 500% increase, a pension (100% govt contribution), health care for life among other necessities that the rest of us would have to pay for

CD the union could have asked for a 25% increase rather than a fucking 300% raise. The league is struggling and needs to be profitable. Most teams need to develope a larger fan base still.
Once the leauge gets on its feet then the players can ask for more money. Until then, the money the union was asking for just isn't sustainable. Thats the problem with most unions...they ask for too much.

Seems to work for football players, good or bad.. Some get paid more than others, but they all are protected from greedy owners and management.
It works the same way in every job.

Really?
When my company that I worked at for 15 years got purchased all the unionized plants accross the country sit idle. Lots and lots of cobwebs and dust. Non union plants (profitable) remain in operation to this day.
If unions protect the worker then I don't want none.

Then I don't want none ? What kind of english is that ? You need to go back to school and get an education. You have about as much credibility as a 7th grader.

Exactly CD...Without unions they would work your butt to the bone
I have a friend who's son works for a non-union company that doesn't allow him to sit down during morning and afternoon 10 minute break. He can sit down only during lunch. That's hard to believe, but it's true.
