Perhaps Trump is really becoming a politician because nothing speaks to the emotionally charged teaparty/birther followerslike talking about Obama's citizenship...
Rather then talking about issues and how he can fix the nation, the focus is on what teaparty/GOP voters seem to care about most...
Businessman Donald Trump took shots at the field of potential Republican
presidential candidates and also fired one at House Speaker John
Boehner (R-Ohio) as he contemplates a 2012 bid.
Trump said he
could put up as much as $600 million of his own money in a race against
President Obama, whose birthplace Trump said he doubts a little bit.

It is a requirement for any Repub candidate for Prez to either....
a) question Obama's birthplace, or
b) question his religious affiliation, or
c) question Obama's love of America.
But usually it is all of the above.
Have to get the mouth-breathing part of your political base fired up and contribute to the campaign.
you obviously have not heard trump talk in public at all. he is the ONLY potential candidate, including obama, who is actually talking about tackling the issues that face america, instead of the normal 'hot button' issues that are 1) important 2) the federal govts responsibilities.

Any one of this triumvirate GUARANTEES Obama a second term.
The Republicans had better come up with a capable candidate AND THEN not fuck up the running mate AGAIN if they expect to defeat Barry. Seems as though EVERY TIME they get any momentum, they shoot themselves in the foot.

No, I don't agree. McCain could have tapped somebody like a pro-choice Tom Ridge and maybe carried PA with other crucial States. Instead he caved in to the far right-wing zealots.
I remember listening to Rush Limbaugh radio when the Palin VP announcement came over the car radio. I almost drove off the highway. I was sure it was some kind of Limbaugh joke.
McCain needed to pick a running mate that drew the critical independent votes. The right-wingers would have held there noses and STILL voted for McCain. The choice of Palin was political suicide.

I think Palin WAS the main reason for the loss....c'mon, an old man like McCain and you are going to put Palin one heart beat away from the WH?....
she might have been more qualified than Barry, but she isnt black and was not going to garner Any of those votes.
I do not see any GOP candidates at the moment beating the Anointed One, ever if he stumbles more one thing is for certain....the GOP will probably fuck up worse!
Ron Paul should get the nod just to wake up America, for if the GOP is going to lose they might as well lose with someone HONEST and RESPECTABLE!
90% or more of the black population will vote for the Ears no matter what the hell he does or says....call it whatever the hell you want but that is just plain fact

Using McCain in the same sentence as " right wing zealots" is kind of funny. He has moved more right, but it still a pussycat when it compares to guys like Ron Paul.

Ron Paul is nuttier than a snickers bar.
His son Rand, is even crazier than the old man!!!
You can label them as Republican or Tea Party or whatever the kind term of the day is, but they are out of their fucking minds.

I think that what people are trying to tell you is that the GOPs knew they were going to lose because of the antiGOP sentiment connected with president bush as well as certain populations in society coming out to vote...
So they threw a woman in there knowing that it did not matter who mccain ran with... but she then became a lighting rod for the negativity of liberals..
They knew that like all teaparty wackos they talk rightwing but behave like left wingers...
It was such a set up for her to have an opportunity to show her true colors for such selfish and inappropriate spending when being supported by someone else footing the bill
"An angry aide characterized the shopping spree as "Wasilla hillbillies LOOTING Neiman Marcus from coast to coast,"
and said the truth will eventually come out when the Republican Party audits its books."
They knew that in the spotlight she would act like a liberal and be "liberal" with appropriate conduct and embarrass herself taking some of the GW bush negativity with her...

If you think that Kennedy would have won without LBJ as his VP choice, you are mistaken steve.
no possible way JFK wins w/o the Texan......
i admit, im not 1960 election scholar, but texas only voted R 3 times prior to 1972, 2x for ike, when the whole country did, and for hoover, when also, the whole country did. texas also only had 2 R governors prior to 1979, and both of those where in the 1800s.
also, even if jfk lost texas, he still wins the election by a comfortable margain, he won by about 100 electoral votes.
now, its certainly possible the lbj won jfk texas, but i dont have access to a time machine. but to say ridge would have made a 6 pt swing in PA in 08, IMO, is dumb.

Ridge was a popular Governor, well liked in PA, and could have also made a difference in the both very tight OH and IND and maybe even FL. McCain STILL would have needed VA and NC.
Yes, I will admit it is a stretch, but it is NOT dumb.
Dumb is tapping a polarizing ditz to seal your fate.
Do you agree that Obama made Biden his correct VP choice? At least Obama recognized the public's perception of him being weakest in Foreign Policy. Biden was the ONLY choice IMO Barry could have made to solidify his ticket.

look a the popular count in the 60 election......closest election ever I think......it was hard for the country to vote Catholic...certain states pushed him over...like the MACHINE in Illinois/Chicago!

personally I think the NASA formation and getting to the moon in such a short time was the biggest accomplishment in my lifetime..amazing all the while civil-rights and Nam were in play!
He was a great speaker.....and he hated LBJ as did his brother but a necessary evil.
