Gamblers take note. Hawaii did not RUTS. They controlled the ball for the entire 4th quarter, and took a knee on the 1/2 yard line. That is something I have never seen before.

don't know if i'll bet it... i think Hawaii will win, and seems like it would be a high scoring game... but most of all, it seems like (+14) or even (+14.5) on UW is a gift... they have been playing well lately, and can score points... not to mention the fact they are battle tested... one of the toughest schedules in the country this year, going up against the weakest schedule in the country this year...

correction... UW ranks #1 in SOS... UH ranks #119 (dead last) in SOS... wonder if or when that has ever happened before... gotta believe that the results of those schedules (UW struggling with a losing record and UH being undefeated against a host of patsies) has skewed the perception and created a much inflated line...
wasn't planning to bet this, but i think i just convinced myself...

hmmm... to put it in perspective... the average opponent of UW this year (based on SOS rating) is Florida St... the average opponent of UH is Div II power Cal Poly Slomona (sandwiched between Temple and UTEP)...

UW played USC and Ohio St pretty close. They walloped Boise St and Cal. I don't see this game being a gimme by any chance.
Traditionally, Hawaii plays "big schools' close. i.e. we win by a TD or FG. I believe we had a triple ot win against Houston one year. The exception BYU and ASU.
That said, I do like the emotional fireplug that Hawaii becomes at the end of the year. Offense and Defense clicked this past game. I don't see why they wouldn't be fired up for a PAC10 team as well.
Would a loss to underdog Washington St. take the fight out of the Huskies?

Colt Brennan is playing for Heisman consideration, which he isn't getting any love there. Hawaii itself is playing for a BCS bid to make people know they are for real. Their defense did a nice job against a high octane Boise State offense. Hawaii's defense is underrated. They can rush the passer and they are very fast, from what I saw. Their WR's are SICK. Hawaii rolls....

Hawaii needs this bad for BCS considerations. They dont need another team to leap frog them. They need to win and with stlye points. For our program, for the WAC, for the Heisman, for June Jones, for the state, we need this bad. WA don't need nothing, they get to play in paradise.

Johngus: Everyone will see this week that Hawaii is not for real when Boise takes it to them on the Island. I know you meant to say, “Everyone will see this week that Hawaii is just unreal when Boise bows to them on the island.” Mahalo, brah!
PAPAJOHN: “Sorry Hawaii backers. Boise St has a more balanced offense and a much better defense. Boise will control the ball keeping it away from Hawaii's potent offense. They don't want a shootout which maybe Hawaii might have the advantage. Hawaii have a hard time stopping the running game. Sorry again, everything stops here and Washington will crush Hawaii. To bad, no BCS Boise St 38 - 35” You were right about Boise’s “balanced offense and defense”. They played the same on both sides of the ball.
Texan396: “Boise St. has a running game and a D unit, unlike Hawaii.” Please revisit the 4th quarter of the Boise State game for a dose of reality.
Trifecta: “Boise state becomes noisey state after they beat the poi out of the bunch from the land of overpriced condo's. Hawaii is about to feel its first defeat. Get ready to question your reason for playing the game.” Eh, brah..try some of dis crow luau with some poi…ono, you know!
Gobigblu4evr: “No offense to the Hawaii backers with what I'm about to say... Hawaii has a great offensive team and wins against the teams they play. No one on here thinks they don't deserve to be ranked. With that being said, they don't have a dominant team by any means. They could not beat one team in the SEC.” If we beat Washington and if there is a football God, PLEASE let us play an SEC team in the Sugar Bowl!
Idp: “Boise State will be strictly business on their trip to the Island. The utmost respect should go to the deserving Warriors. However, Boise St. has been in these big, big, big games for the last several years and have gotten after their opponent. Boise State might win this game by more then 10 pts.”
Or lose by 12
Colt Brennan: "That's three weeks in a row the so-called experts and critics out there said we were going to lose and we didn't. Obviously they need to re-check what they're doing because they're wrong."

Think you got something with this angle. Washington players come to the Island do a little sun bathing and run into a buzz saw game night. Hawaii came to far in win against Boise to blow a BCS bowl in this spot.

Mind you, we are not talking about a win, but beating the spread. Braddah Locker is leading QB rusher...this year? WA RB is 1,200 yds also? Against the toughest schedule in the country.
True, your schedules don't play the game for you, but there is a significant question mark on the 14pt spread. I've been wrong more times than not when it comes to Hawaii covering this year.
Like most things, it comes down to a hunch. Momentum carries the Warriors.

yes Maui Warrior, Huskies are big and athletic as my friend in LA reminds me. They play in a BCS conf. and at 4-8 may give Hawaii all they can handle. Personally I think they come but not to play. They may want to ruin our season but that might lleave by the 2nd qtr. if Hawaii jumps on them. With so much at stake, don't expect any knee touches in thus game. Aloha Brah!!!!!

Just weighing the odds, my friend. Just weighing the odds.
Bravado is only good for amusement on this thread. With both a running back and QB topping a thousand yds rushing each, one should take this opponent very seriously.
I say, Hawaii by 10pts. (nobody's a bigger homer than me, when it comes to Hawaii.)

Fellas......Ty Willingham is a loser.......he lost in South bend over a two year stretch that hadn't been done in half a century.......and while doing it.......he played golf everyday and didn't fill up the recruiting channels.......leaving 11 scholorships unfilled and open his last two years in South Bend. When ND fired him( and everyone screamed foul) he went to Washington and all the huskie nation lauded him and laughed at ND for firing such a solid coach so soon and said our lose was thier gain!!!! "Just waite for a couple years and see what he does here with OUR tradition!!!", they said......Well Husky Nation.......how are you liking him now!?!? Year one(1-10), year two(3-8) year three(4-8).....here he comes......building a powerhouse........can you feel it?? Can you see it......
He can't coach, he can't organize, he doesn't connect well with boosters or alumni. But he does do one thing well.......plays ok against good teams and gets beat by team he should stomp on......with that being said.....and Locker being his only savior from a 1-10 record again this year.......I may take the points.......but he will lose his last game of the year for 5th year in a row!!!!!! One thing I have to commend him on though.............he was smart enough to draw two multi million dollar salaries at the same time from two different schools for two straight years...........I wonder what his 401k looks like.........after his 4th failing year next year.......he may be having to tap into it while he coaches a high school team in central New Mexico. Go Warriors!!!! I'm a huge fan now after what I saw last week and earlier in the year.........I hope a knucklehead like Ty doesn't luck into some turnovers or other crap to win a close one and steal an awesome season away from a well deserving BCS team like the Warriors!!!! I just cant' see him "scheming" to slow down that flexible passing offense. That shit is way above his head.......The Warriors might just mudstomp Washington. Hell, ty just lost to WSU at home to send his seniors out on a good note. I would take the under in this game.....

Bob-O ...for a guy that was all over Boise last week you really changed coarse with the wind.. Stop being a front runner and stand up to those Hawaii lovers......Although I must admit if someone cant figure out how to blitz every down with linebackers that Colt and the 3 amigos will eat em up

Last week I was wrong about the final score and ball control. During the 4th quarter, UH Warriors was the one controling the ball.
Now is nitty gritty time for the Warriors. They have more game incentive. They like to feast on Pac 10 teams like the Ducks many years ago and Arizona St last year. Remember the old WAC? They slaugthered BYU twice. Then BYU and the rest jumped ship forming the Mountain West Conference. In doing so, everyone had the idea that the WAC is the weakest conference.
Now is the time for the WAC to show up. Thanks Boise for staging the beginning.
I think UH Warriors has the edge. They will be motivated with more incentive to win the game. They will play smart ball.

one thing somebody pointed out... UW has quite a few Seniors who will be playing their last game here, and are motivated to spoil Hawaii's run... also, i can't get out of my mind the fact that they had no trouble at all with Boise St early in the year, and played Ohio St and USC tough... but most of all, they beat Cal soundly, and i think Cal, as much as they have struggled, would beat Hawaii...
only thing that keeps UW from covering is if they simply don't care... if they come to play they cover easily...

A couple quick quotes I pulled from an article that might pique your interest :
"It's a 13th game for UW — teams are allowed an extra game when they play at Hawaii as an inducement to make the expensive trip — and only the second time since 1948 the Huskies are playing a regular-season game after facing Washington State.
The other came in 2001, when a game at Miami was postponed because of the Sept. 11 attacks. A week after beating WSU 26-14 that year, the Huskies suffered one of their worst losses ever, a 65-7 defeat at the Orange Bowl, with some players admitting it was hard to rev back up after the Apple Cup.The look on the faces of the players who showed up for postgame interviews hinted that could be a tall task this week as well."
