There are some real nice races @ Keenland & Oaklawn today.

In case you missed it R11 @ Keenland #13 Alberobello for Pletcher/Johnny V got into the race & should be the favorite after a closing 2nd in her only try. She stretches out to 7 F today.

Keenland R1 I'm playing a DD #7 Union Obsession with 1587. I'm going to give a good look @ #1 Front Door in the 2nd @20-1. I love Charlie LoPresti as a trainer & he gave me a winner last Saturday with Lezcano up on Coco Channel. We'll see if they can connect with a long shot today,

BOL to all...

#7 was sitting 2nd & in striking position but just stopped.

Javier with a great hand ride won on the chalk.

R2 I'll stay with my original 1578

Rosario did a nice job on #3 @ 5-1; #12 tired to 4th.

R5 has two scratches bringing the field to 7. Rarely see Javier ride for Asmussen but he's on #1 Bee Jersey. Must be a reason huh?

Javier won easily on Asmussen's #1; glad to see #4 @ 14-1 to get 2nd & the #2 hold on for a $31 tri. Gotta get em when u can..

Not crazy about R5 but I'll try ex/tri box of 7-10-11

GP R6 I like #9 Modern Tale. Trainer Elizabeth Dobles doesn't train a ton of horses but she usually has them ready. Gafflione stays on this one which says a lot to me.

#9 Modern Tale really didn't show up.

But Javier showed on on #11 @ 7-1. Sat last for most of the race then came about 6 wide gobbling up everyone only to get DQ'd.  Haven't seen the replay yet but I know someone took #7's lane down the stretch.

GP R7 Ex/DD wheel 8 all

This is a very weak field & this firster for Pletcher doesn't have to be much to beat this crew.

#13 won the finale but the real story is that the #2 ran 2nd & it was that trainer LoPresti/Lezcano connection again.

I'd keep an eye on this trainer jock combination especially on the grass.

BTW...tomorrow @ Keenland R7 LoPresti has Red Dane running & Johnny V gets the mount.

R7 at Keenland fell apart with all the scratches but I see trainer Charlie LoPresti kept #9 Red Dane in the race even when it was taken off the turf.

This is the same thing he did with Coco Channel last Saturday & she won easily with Lezcano up, Today he switches to Johnny V.

Play #9 Red Dane as you choose.

How about dat huh????

Johnny V goes off @ 9-1; sits 2nd, gets to the top of the stretch & takes off to win by about 3. The chalk ran 2nd so it didn't help us in the tri or the exacta. But the front & especially the back end of the double helped.

$20.40/$6.00/$3.80

Exacta $52,80

Trifecta $95.00

Front end of the double 9-9 $58.40

Back end of the double 9-6 $186.00

That was fun to watch & even more fun when you cash....

Something else I just noticed.

When is the last time you've seen Johnny V with only two mounts on a racing card? He had one in the 3rd & he hung around to ride Red Dane in the 7th.

Trainer Charlie LoPresti has been using Jose Lezcano @ Keenland & I was surprised to see yesterday that Johnny was getting the mount on this one today.

This one was locked & loaded whether it was on the turf, dirt or slop. Great job by Johnny's agent getting him this mount.

ML was 6-1 & went off @ 9-1. Classic Johnny V ride sitting off the leader, making a move & having enough left in the tank to hold off the closing chalk.

Thanks David...

I'm looking at one racing Thursday @ Keenland in R7.

#7 Irish Territory ML 7-2 has been away since 8/30 when he finished 2nd at Saratoga to Catholic Boy (I think he scratched this weekend) who ran 3rd to Audible in the Florida Derby.

Billy Mott trains & he replaces Lezcano with Luis Saez. They are going a mile in a MSW. He may be worth a look...
