Greetings all, been busy out this way, still wagering but not able to post as much of late. Been doing fairly decently as well, but now football is winding down, time to focus on CBB.
I see #19 Michigan is a +4.5 dog at Iowa tonight. Granted, I havent been able to watch much Big 10 with my current schedule, and I know that recently Big 10 teams at home are doing well, but doeant this seem a bit off?
My impression of Michigan is a young, talented team with an inexperienced head coach. Dont need that much experience in basketball as there is not as many moving parts as on a football team. Kids seem to listen to Howard since he has been there and done that.
Is Iowa home, court advantage THAT impressive?
I am leaning Michigan and the points, may even buy a half, but I am not trying to give back any proceeds from the bookie.

Iowa is very good at home. Michigan is not good on the road. They played well against Minnesota on the road but ultimately lost. It's a revenge game for Iowa as well. Michigan's defense can keep them in the game for sure, but with the big ten and Iowa home advantage and advantage offensively it's only a matter of time. I took Iowa straight up instead of the points simply because I believe Michigan is going to push them.

Home Teams have been exceptionally tough this year. Look at the a**whoppin that Purdue just handed Michigan State.
I think all you really need to see is that Michigan's Road Record is 1-4, to make Iowa the favorite in this game. Now you have to decide if 4.5 points is too many. Based on Michigan's performance on the Road I would say "no". Your talking about teams ranked 20th and 24th, which is not that big of difference, so it is all about the home court IMO.

It wasn't my intention for my very first post on here to be a response, but here goes:
One standard rule I follow (doesn't come up that often) is to always bet an unranked home fav against a ranked dog. It's worked out well in the past. Just saying! Good Luck!

Don’t sleep on the luka Garza kid who’s been lighting up against ranked teams. He’s been on a tear the past 5 games and is a center that can score and also stretch the floor.

Does Howard let teske go one on one with Garza tonight after Garza lit them up for 44 last time? Maybe, since Michigan won the first meeting. Teske getting lit up by every center in the league, but howard just doesnt like to double down low. Will he finally give in?

I'm taking Iowa with the points. All you have to do is look at their previous match ups and you will see that Iowa has handled their business at home. Oh, and Michigan's away record.

Great points all, I was wondering if Micgigan would stay within 5, and a lot,of you all think NO, I see several on Iowa ML, which may be the safest bet. Maybe they cover, or maybe 5 points is too much to ask. I think they win outright, so maybe tonight will just be a ML with worse odd, and maybe throw them into a teaser later.

I think Iowa runs em out of the gym.....but what do I know? Juwan Howard is 0-4 on the road as a head coach with average margin of defeat being 12.5 points. Michigan has been owned by opposing "bigs" in conference play, so I'm sure Garza scores at will....again, considering he had 40+ at Crisler in December. I heard Livers may play, I dont think it matters. Iowa by dd's.

but both are ranked tonight.
He might be looking at the AP Poll. Iowa is ranked in the Coaches poll and not on the AP.

whether Livers plays or not makes a big difference in my opinion. he can shoot over iowa zone which opens things up for everyone else. if he doesnt go johns jr will get more minutes and isnt a 3pt threat, should be a good one.

I guess I should've been more specific about Livers. Of course, he makes a difference, hes their leading scorer. I don't the outcome of the game hinges on his playing. Iowa wins by 14 if he doesn't play, maybe 6 or 7 if he does. Just my humble opinion
