I'm out for the night. Waking up for work is not gonna be pretty. I'll be back tomorrow to pick this thread up. Your thoughts/comments/analysis is certainly welcome and appreciated.
Home team won 9 of last 10 Yale/Cornell games. Bulldogs lost last 5 playing in Ithaca by 5,4,1,20,and 28, bur did win their last game against Cornell last year at Yale.Yale split their 4 Ivy League (IL) games losing to Brown by 9 and Princeton by 13. Big Red won and covered all their IL games winning by 21, 26, 24 and 36. Ivy league home favorites are 5-2 against the spread.
Dartmouth swept Penn last year after losing the previous 10 meetings. Big Green is 0-4 in IL play scoring 48.3 ppg. Penn upset Brown last week for just their second win in 16 games. Quakers are 2-8 vs spread as a dog this year.
Road team is 4-0 vs spread in Brown's IL games. Brown lost 3 of last 4 visits to Columbia losing by 12, 9 and 6 points. Home team is 9-3 in last 12 series games. Columbia is 1-3 in IL play beating Dartmouth by 12 . Other 3 games were against tbe IL's best, Cornell and Harvard.
Harvard got smoked last week by Cornell. Crimson won their other 3 IL games by 29, 4 and 29, but have lost 7 of their last 9 against Princeton. Princeton won its first 2 IL games by 17 and 13 both on the road. Princeton has won 7 of their last 8 games against D-1 opponents.

Hi everyone,
Dmon asked me to post this on his thread:
Sure did- proud Penn alum here. Or at least I used to be proud. I went there while we were still really good and actually resembled one of the winningest programs in college basketball history, so these past few years have been tough. But we're starting back up the hill and hopefully we can climb back to our previous lofty heights. I still follow the team/league very closely, though, and probably always will.
I'm starting to firm up my lean on Princeton. While there's a definite chance that Harvard comes out fired up after last weekend's rout and blows Princeton out behind their sold-out home crowd, I'd say that the majority of the time (60-65%) this will be a close game. As long as you don't mind taking a chance on Princeton getting blown out from the opening tip and making you look silly for taking them, I think you'll be alright taking them tonight. The numbers and matchups definitely point to them. I don't love it just because of the spot and the big question mark about how Harvard responds to the Cornell beating, but it's still my favorite side play of the night. I'm locking it in now. I'm also putting in a sprinkle on the ML, since that's probably the best pure value play of the night.
To quickly respond to the Cornell 1H talk, let me play devil's advocate for a moment. In my post last night, I mentioned the possibility that Cornell could have something of a letdown coming off of their biggest win of the season. As focused as they've been from the get-go all year, if any hint of a letdown were to creep in, it'd manifest itself in the first half. Plus, Yale is always feisty. I'd be careful with this if this is the direction you're leaning.
The Brown-Columbia game is getting the kind of action I expected, with Columbia receiving heavy public support (and the line's moving right along with it). For what it's worth, while I probably won't play it, I have a slight lean to Brown. Patrick Foley (Columbia's PG) is likely out for tonight's game, and they really don't have any guys who can create for themselves or for others on offense. Their offense is very uncreative, as they dump it down low and let their bigs go to work and sometimes kick it out, but the ball and player movement is extremely poor. Without Foley things have been extra-stagnant, if that's possible. As I said last night, we can count on Brown taking a bunch of threes tonight, and if they're falling, this one will come down to the final minutes.
To summarize (again), all I've got locked in right now is Princeton + and the Princeton ML. It's not a big bet for me, but I think it's the best side play of the night. I'll be back later with some more/final thoughts or small plays, but for the most part I'm saving the big plays for tomorrow night, when there's a couple things I might really really like.

if anything, I would think this would hurt your case for making a play on Cornell. I would guess the impact of being ranked in the top 25 for the first time in that long would be similar to the impact felt by teams who have taken over as the #1 team in the nation. With a top 25 ranking comes pressure.
just a thought. I am staying away from a side play on this game.

Great thread.
I can't spin a score in my head that has Penn and Dartmouth finding 121 points. This one might wind up closer to 100.
I like Brown, though I think if both teams actually play well, CU wins by 10 or so. Loins seem to loose interest from time to time. Maybe that's a function of depth.
