Wisconsin -0.5 / under 52 teaser
Updated 2017 bowl record: 17-9
Off day for college Sunday, but plenty of NFL action, hope it's okay to post and discuss in the NCAAF forum. Week 17, some teams playing with desperation to make the playoffs, some knocked out last week might be flat in week 17... should be an exciting day in the pros. To the picks...
1:00 NFL teaser Green bay +13/Pittsburgh -0.5
The Detroit Lions an underwhelming 3-4 at home this season, GB ravaged by injury in 2017, both teams ready to be done with this season. Lions likely to fire Jim Caldwell on Monday after the team let their season slip away against the lowly Bengals last weekend. Lions may win, but can't see how they have any motivation to play this NYE game after losing last weekend.
Pittsburgh is home against the Browns... Browns looking to avoid 0-16 and claim a spot in history. Home field is still technically on the line for Pittsburgh even though it's unlikely with NE playing the Jets. Regardless, it's hard to imagine Cleveland avoiding 0-16 by going on the road and beating a top 3 team in the NFL.
1:00 straight play Dallas Cowboys -3
This line tells the story... Philly a home dog. Homefield is already locked up for the Eagles, rest is probably a priority for Philly, and not only that but the Eagles looked terrible on Christmas night at home against Oakland. Zeke back running it up in the Cowboys back field, divisional game in which Dallas will be seeking to avenge an earlier loss at home to the Eagles.
4:00 teaser Atlanta +2/Seattle -2.5
The defending NFC champs have everything riding on this home game against Carolina. Hard to see them letting the season get away on home field. Carolina can still techincally lock in the divisional title if they win here & NO loses to TB (not very likely). So if you feel more comfortable with Carolina +10 here I think that's a good option too, I personally just see an ATL win to clinch a playoff spot.
In the other game... Seattle can claim the last spot in the NFC with a win and Atlanta loss. Both games start at same time so motivation won't be an issue for the Seabirds. They welcome the lowly Cardinals who are trying to play spoiler. Rumors swirling tonight than Arizona HC Bruce Arians is done after the game tomorrow, the injuries have plagued the Cardinals all season and I can't see QB Drew Stanton leading the Cardinals into that crazy Seattle environment and ending the 'Hawks playoff hopes.
4:00 teaser Baltimore -3.5 / SF 49ers +2
Another desperate team, the Ravens need a W to clinch a playoff birth and welcome a Bengals team off a big win that ended the Lions season last weekend. Hard to expect another effort like that from the Bengals, especially on the road. Ravens roll at home.
Other game, 49ers have been smoking hot with QB Jimmy G. Offense is rolling & tomorrow they'll take on an LA Rams team that really doesn't want to be there. Rams are hosting a playoff game next weekend no matter what happens here, so don't expect to see the Rams big players much if at all. Get in, take a loss, get out for the Rams here.
