and they say flyers fans aren't classy
Ya that's pretty sorry. read what Bill Russell had to say about Boston "race relations" after he retired from the Celtics
BUT Boston is for sure NOT the ONLY city with some nucklehead fans. remember some dummer Habs fan throwing a banana at former NHL goalie (now NHL network commentator) Kevin Weekes years ago AND the fan in London, Ontario that also threw a banana at Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds during a shootout attempt in a pre-season game there.

You know...this is a sad story on the state of our society. I know my grandparents ( who have all passed ) had racially motivated views but you can almost understand that being that it was taught to them in the late 1800s and early 1900s when sadly it was the norm in society.
What saddens me reading these posts is that the vast majority seem to come from young people...probably in their teens and 20s. As generations pass...one would think that racism would continue to decrease and tolerance would rise.
Sadly...this is not the case. As a lifelong Bruins fan who lives in the Boston area...I have seen racial tensions close to heart in the 70s with busing and school desegregation in Boston. The city has come a long way and I don;t see this kind of thing going on but then again I am older and not in the city every day anymore.
I know that these people do not represent the Bruins fans as a whole and am just saddened this takes away from a hard fought series. I for one congratulate the Caps for the way they fought through adversity and beat what I thought was a pretty good Bruins team.

You know what. Watching it at the time...I thought it was a good goal. I have seen less called interference but I honestly don't think it should have been called back. I think the PP call the Bruins got at the end of the game shouldn't have been called and in Game 5 the refs made a horrible call on Pouliot for slashing with 2 minutes and change left.
And tonight...the Rags hit Anderson behind the net in the first and there is no call. Plus...the player discipline is all over the place with no consistency either.
