I wanted to share this with someone. No body close to me knows i bet sports and they wouldn't understand if i told them.

Anyway. Last nights Denver Spurs game I bet 2000$ on the "in game" UNDER 231 early second quarter.  I went to sleep after i made the bet.  I woke up sometime after 12am and watched the final quarter in bed on my phone.  Just watching the box score.  It was gut wrenching!  My eyes were blurry the whole time because i had woken up from a dead sleep.  Anyway I was just praying give me just a minute of no scoring so i will have a shot.  After agonizing the last two minutes hoping it would not be one of these 20 point final two minutes.  Alas Denver didn't score a point in the final 2 minutes and the spurs scored 4.  Holy garbage i won.  Funny I had already come to terms with the loss.  Ive had so many late night losses i knew what to expect and i did expect to lose.  And just wanted the game to end and go back to sleep.

Not only did i win 1600$ on the game.  I also forgot I had taken denver at -5 earlier in the game for 150$.  So as i was laying in bed dreading i was gonna lose and have to reload my account or maybe stop for a while I now have 4000$ this morning.  Great fucken feeling....I got to stop doing stupid garbage like that. But betting the same amount every game sometimes gets boring..  I know i am an action better and i do have self control 90% of the time.... But dam the gambler in me sometimes wants feel a certain way....The bad beats are bad but the good times are AWESOME.

In a weird way I currently feel like i lost because of the stupidity of the bet.  I haven't come down from this high.  Still anxious.

Tonight i would like to find 3 games and try to go 2-1.

Thanks for stopping by.  Im sure if you read this youve had similar experiences.

Just bet the same amounts and think long term, not trying to win the Powerball in a day but over the whole season.

You get to have more fun and a little bit less stressful.

We're all guilty of dropping a big bet on a game we never intended to bet, I have done it, then was kicking myself for betting big on trash teams like the Suns and Kings.

At least you are aware of it, it's just the rush of having it all on the line that's addicting. The high highs and the low lows.

The scary part is when you become desensitized to it.  I've owed my bookie $2k+ on multiple paydays and fuctioned normally afterwards throughout the week. an_speechless It just didn't bother me any more. confused Then  I go telling my losing sessions to people and they just don't believe me that I've lost those amounts or am betting those amounts..

I here ya. Us non pro's we're all about the action bets. I actually punked out of my parlay late in the game and put a piece on Spurs ML to protect what seemed like a loss. But man have i seen some good 'action' spots this week. Utah jazz ML last night for one. I didn't have the nerve to put anything credible on it but i had the nerve to parlay Cavs Tor Hou Den ML. One of these days I'll get my moment. Until then, I've doubled my deposit from a few weeks ago so far so I'm hanging. I did have a substantial amount on Phoenix 1st quarter ML this week against GS which was looking great, but after the timeout GS called halfway in I knew they were going to step on it so I bought myself out and GS takes it by a freaking point so good call there. Good luck out there

The first time I got into this a few months back, i was betting Nfl and doing nicely, but i was also complementing with Blackjack on little bits after whenever I won. If i had 517 for example after a win, i might take the 17 to BJ. i was doing great for a while on both, until that day. I had turned 50 bucks into 3700 and one morning I woke up at like 3am for some reason, coming down from a bad cold and thought it would be a good idea to do a few BJ hands. 3 BJ in a row for the dealer followed by hitting 21 four times in a row and boom just like that i became a degenerate. Lesson absolutely learned. I also had every pick for that playoff Nfl weekend nailed, Atl ML, NO ML, Buffalo and Jaguars i believe it was but was completely wiped out to bet. So now my taxes came in I'm here to give it another go and Nba is much more brutal than Nfl but I'm hanging in. I got a hunger after that for redemption. The funnier part is i had a 2grand deposit 'pending'. Gotta love that.

The big hits on a game always happen when I'm full of beer and live betting pissed as hell out of what looks like a sure loser. Then everything hits at the final horn.

Interesting point about being desensitized to losing up top. I don't feel much when settle up day for thousands comes around anymore. Regular civilians think I'm insane. I think they're right.

very true, gotta think long term. As long as your hitting >55% your golden. Personally for me, i like to stick to a % of my bankroll for all my bets on that day. For example i was sitting at $420 yesterday, made 5 bets at 5% of the bankroll, so i made 5 bets at $21. Going 4-1, now sitting around 480, i will be making bets of 24 each. Stay disciplined and as long as your avg positive numbers you will increase your bankroll and your profits overtime.

Last night.  I literally l lost about 6 150$ bets on the final possession of the game.  Each time losing by a point or two.  And you know the mind of a gambler.  Its almost personal.  As if the entire sports industry purposely scripted me to lose all those games in that fashion.  After all i never win like that.

Whats really fucked up is the second courtered live total line of 225 last night with Denver on my site woiuld freeze it then un freeze but my bet of under 225 for 2000$ would not be accepted.  I kept hitting the place bet button but nothing.  I would of lost that bet by a point had it been accepted.  Instead it actually jumped to 231 and during a timeout of play the system unfroze and i got it in.

I did not drink last night.  IF i did i think i would of been very impatient and bet the mid quater total of 218....  I actually was patient to some degree.

But the sports books are not against me or anyone.

And just like some people who posted to this thread the big losses don't bother me anymore.  I lost almost every heart breaken way imaginable. Most recently i lost the under for 1000$ on Minn, NO playoff game on the last play of the game.  I had the under live line what ever it was. It still tingles a bit but no body around me at work or home has a clue.

GA meetings are for compulsive losers.  i attended a few times a long time ago and relized all 13 men there were addicted to losing money.    The profitable gamblers dont attend those meetings.
