The Jets are the only team that will pay him the 50 Mil in guarantees he is looking for and that is because the GM is hanging by a thread and throwing everything against the wall to see what sticks. No other rational NFL team will pay this guy. The rest is just a smokescreen. I was right on AB and I would bet on the Jets because Bell is only looking for the big payday.

The Redskins usually cough up $ like a 21 year old virgin at a strip club for the 1st time. But they just spent $ on Landon Colins.

I agree w/ the OP, no rational team is going to bust the bank for a RB these days.

This is the perfect time to give a RB this kind of money.  They aren’t paying QB real money yet, now you have guy who will be great security blanket for Darnold.  Not only rushing but catching out of back field.  I think the Jets have done great job so far.

Alright, lets play this out...

Upside: Bell wins MVP for 1,500 yards rushing and 1,000 receiving, 15 tds. Jets 9-7, Pats win division, no wild-card for Jets.
Holdout for more money is -180 during training camp of 2020 because "he outplayed his contract".

Downside: He's obviously been embarrassed by "settling" for $50M after p*ssing away $14.5 by not playing in 2018, and he mails it in because this is who he is. (If he couldn't play for the $14.5 from Pitt or the 5-years $70M they offered, how's he going to do on the Section 8 money the Jets are paying him?)

The league should've let him rot (and I despise the Steelers but I don't like the precedent he set with that bs in 2018).

one of the best moves the Jets have done in decades ,right behind getting Sam last year .The addition of Crowder ,Mosses ,they still have a shot at Bosa  or one of the speed rushers coming out of collage //makes the Jets much improved. And they still have cash .Signing Bell at this price in the position they were in,was a no brainner.if it bankrupted the team thats another story .
