I have seen a few people here on st.louis and im just wondering what the reasoning is. I like a more experienced team picked #1 in the Mac over a middle of the pack A-10 school. St. louis is playing 7 freshman against a team that beat them by 41 last year and returns most of their line-up. And please don't say revenge factor. 3/4 of this team didn't even play last year and im sure kent wants to win just as bad as St.Louis. This is also the first test of their careers for all of these freshman after playing some very weak competition to start the year. Regardless BOL.

Yeah I know that, Im just saying that everyone else is young and I think this will be an eye opener for them. Besides playing against Eberhardt these freshman haven't even practiced against a D1 big man much less played against one. I saw your thread and agree this will be a good team with time. But I lean towards a somewhat proven team with experience.

yeah, I was leaning St Louis as a reverse line play but your info speaks volumes and to make up 41 pts from last year to a PK this year is just sooooooo fishy

I spent the last 30 min. looking at every stat on both team pages, there should be NO reason Kent St. does not win here. Kent St. has 65%(pts.) of their offense back from last year, alot of experienced players, they are a stellar defensive team also. Saint Louis will not be able to keep up, a little smaller, a little slower... If someone thinks St. Louis can win, PLEASE shed some light on what I did not see. Kent State(-1.5)

SLU on scored 48 points in their exhibition game against a division II
college however they were without there best player. From what i
hear Saint Louis is a horrible shooting team. Kent State has an
extreme amount of talent. They bring back Al Fisher (reigning MAC
player of the year) one of the most clutch players in all of
basketball. He hit big shot after big shot for Kent State last
year. Jordan Mincy one of the best defenders in the country.
Mincy held the star from St. Mary's last year to 5 points that same
guys dropped 20 something on team USA. Joshua Simpson a first
year player for Kent will alter shots in the lane along with Senior
Center Brandon Parks. Kent is loaded with depth Rashad Woods who
shot 47% from 3 last year will come off the bench along like another
3pt threat Mike Mckee. Chris Singletary is a big physical guard
who will be very difficult to stop when driving to the hoop.
Although it looks like Kent State will be without Tyree Evans tonight
and until grades become official I believe Kent State will win by 15
something in the range of 74-59. Good luck everyone!

SLU coach Rick Majerus chuckled when asked if the Kent State game was a good one for his team this early in the season. "No," he said. "It will help us later in the year, and in the second, third and fourth years. It's a good game to play. They're very, very good. I'd like to have gone lighter earlier and not play such formidable opponents and then play three straight road games, but no one will feel sorry for you. This will make us better. I know the guys are looking forward to the game. It's a good test.
"People that want to see a good college team should come out (tonight), though they might not see one in us."

He ain't going to say they are pushovers. You can look at all the stats you want til your crossed eyed, but St. Louis has decent chance at beating Kent.
1. They play defense. 2. New coach 3. St. Louis - better coach 3. First road game 4. senior guards for St. Louis
Those are pretty good reasons, imo. I am not betting this game. Too many variables, but St. Louis can definitely play with Kent St.

wow, really like to hear that quote, Bradscmidt, as I am all over Kent. I don't want to repeat what many have already said, but I'm on Kent for a lot of the same reasons. Tyson15, has a lot of good points, and will roll with a more talented, more experienced team with the short number.
