I enjoy reading the posts that blame the "greedy players" for receiving their salaries that were given to them from THEIR OWNERS!!
If your company made 3.3 BILLION dollars last year, but demanded a pay reduction from you, i'm sure you would be ecstatic. Our teachers are going to strike because the gov't asked for a temporary pay FREEZE. There would be teachers rioting in the streets if they had a reduction in their pay Why dont you go after them, afterall they are more important than hockey players.

if Jacobs get's a salary from the team, and if not he might be right to be pissed that a 3rd liner that play 15 minutes a game makes more than he does.
jacobs doesn't "lace 'em up" and get out on the ice. the ONLY thing that ANY owners in ANY sport have to sell is the competition between players. THEY are the "product" NOT the owners
and as for "basically 18 teams lose money", that just means there are a bunch of teams that have NO business BEING in business OR they are in half-assed markets like Phoenix, Dallas, South Florida, Anaheim, ect. FOLD or MOVE to cities that WOULD support NHL Hockey like Quebec City, Hamilton, Saskatoon (ya it's small but VERY rich. think Green Bay in the NFL) and even a 2nd team in the Toronto area (NYC has three teams and Toronto only one?). you can probably add Seattle, Washington and Portland, Oregon in the States. both the Thunderbirds and Winterhawks draw VERY well in the WHL major juniors league and BOTH cities would obviously be better than the failures mentioned.
