I sh%T you not guys. Lane Kiffin and others made it "fashionable" to offer scholarships to qb's not yet 16. We've seen some get offers at 14 and 13. Well Hawaii HC Nick Rolovich said "I see you and raise you" He has offered a scholarship to a qb named Titan Lacaden who will be entering 6th grade in September....And is 11 years old
Titan put on his twitter account the following "Blessed to receive an offer from the University of Hawaii".A couple things here guys:
1. What a time to be alive huh?
2. When I was entering 6th grade I just wanted to take the hottest girl in school to the dance
3. I can't believe 11 year old kids are on twitter{His tweet got 1K retweets and a couple thousand likes}
4. We weren't talking Hawaii this time LY so I guess they got what they wanted}

Your thoughts guys?
Kids are barely kids anymore
They spend most of there time staring into phones
Many of them by the age of 7 have a serious electronic stimulation addiction .... Usually goes hand and hand with A.D.D. OR A.D.H.D
A Month ago we ran a basketball clinic at the Gym , 90% of the kids could not focus on one thing for more than 9 seconds ....
on to YOUR TOPIC OF HAWAII
Like you said why not ??? they have nothing to lose
BEST OF HEALTH, HAPPINESS,WEALTH, BLESSINGS and LUCK TO ALL !!

This is Hawaii offering an island (5th grade) resident a scholarship. Pretty much a self promotion act. Rolovich knows this family as older brother Jake Lacaden played for Rolovich at Nevada.
What a time to be alive? I wouldn't want it. Let the kid have his childhood.
Looking.........way back. Years ago you had mom and pop hardware stores, grocery stores, pharmacies, and even farms. Not anymore! Giant chains dominate the landscape. Mom and pops are long gone. Only the biggest, strongest, most efficient survive.
Same in college football. Used to be high school players didn't even think of college football until the 11th grade and they played HS football where they lived. Specialty camps? Few and far between.
Now, well you gotta go to a academy or a powerhouse Catholic School program or else you fall behind. Playing for your hometown is mostly gone if you look really good. Same for high school basketball. And the youngsters now need to concentrate on one sport. The landscape is constantly changing to a few biggest, strongest programs, everybody else fades away. Soon, if not already, it will be near impossible for many programs to ever achieve greatness as only a few will dominate.
Where are we headed when 5th graders are given national attention and have all that focus and weight upon them?

And I should have stated, Where are we headed when big programs, with big money to build the biggest campus athletic facilities are allowed to dominate? And I'm including Michigan, by favorite team. How many universities have donors to pay for million dollar overseas trips? How many have funds to build facilities with playground slides indoors instead of stairs?? Lavish weight rooms and living quarters.
In the last fifty years there have been 22 different teams with national championships. A few of those years there were co-champions. What will the next 50 years be?

EASY......to where it should have been long ago
*another sub-division > FBS 1 & 2
4 16 team conferences / each with 2 divisions > conference title game serving as round 1 in play-offs > winners advance
*same thing for FBS 2 or whatever
This stuff is for publicity (as stated).....these offers can be WTHDRAWN at any time.....so not worth talking about
*AND have always gone on........the ol' BA was recruited by D1 schools at 13 (mid 70's).....buddies wondered where I got all the cool hats / jerseys/ shoes......how I got on the sidelines for these big games.....I felt no need to hold a press conference from a hot tub..... ha
The impediment to action advances action - what stands in the way becomes the way.
