Standings to come soon for the contest.. Current WNBA standings under new playoff rules.
1. Lynx 2. Sparks
3. Sun
4. Mystics
5. Mercury
6. Liberty
7. Wings
8. Storm
9. Dream
10. Sky
11. Fever
12. Stars
That OT loss was a big one for the Storm vs the Stars. They still hold onto 8th because the Dream couldn't hold a lead and they have the tie-breaker over the Dream still.
Tomorrow's games are massive for all teams involved.
Mercury @ Mystics:
Both teams needing a win, Mystics still missing EDD and Mercury still missing Griner. The Mercury gave it their all against a high flying Sun team only to lose by 1 point. The Mystics just couldn't get any offense happening against a rejuvenated Stars team. This game is a tough game to cap with the 2 biggest players missing. Understand why the line is -3 because of home court and that makes me kind of link Mystics because if they want to stay in the top 4, they need to at least win games at home seeing that they have 7 games at home left and just 3 road games left this season. Mercury have the opposite issue, they only have 4 home games left and 6 road games so they could really slide down the standings.
Sparks @ Wings. Once again, this game has massive importance. Do the Sparks think they can now catch the Lynx after the Lynx lost Whalen? A win for the Wings can put them a little bit closer to the Liberty. I do love the fact that Powers is now back for them and their home court is their main ingredient because they are just 4-9 S/U on the road this season and their last 4 road games are up against Sun x 2 (very strange), Mystics and Sky. They need a win tonight to improve as they are enjoying a nice homestand and their last 4 home games are against Sparks, Mercury, Dream and Liberty. They can definitely challenge all those teams at home. The Sparks enjoyed 2 blowout DD wins at home and now start a 5 game road trip beginning in Dallas, then to Minnesota, followed by NY, Mystics and finishing at Chicago. Big road trip coming for them. Interesting game this one to cap, but I do lean one way...
The last game of the day is Lynx @ Fever. Fever is just unbackable right now. Who on this Fever team can stop Fowles? No one. Even with no Whalen, the Lynx will find a way to win but this line of -12 is a bit insane but hey its the Lynx, they can cover any number when they want. Fever basically playing for their season and as predicted, Pokey has done nothing with this team at all. Its not just Tamika they are missing, its chemistry and rotations. Coleman should be starting, but she isn't happy. You can just tell. Dupree isn't the solution for the retired Tamika and losing Shenise Johnson for the season was the biggest blow. January also not wanting to be there by the looks of it.
I won't be touching this game from a spread point of view but maybe the total if any plays are to be made on this game. The Fever basically have to win this to keep their season alive which I don't see happening..
Just putting my mind onto the thread because after Portugueezer pointed out the other day, discussion is good and I used to discuss the games a lot more in previous seasons and want to keep doing that this season but felt that the contest thread didn't want discussion but stuff it, I want to discuss games that wish to chat about it so here we have it..

Just updated the standings and we just lost 4 guys from the contest due to lack of plays. Remember, this contest runs until the very last game in the playoffs, so if your down the standings a little, plenty of time for you to climb up that ladder... Guys in BOLD need to make a play today.

Nice preview, Aussie. Unfortunately, it did not help me much. This season I am capping using mostly a crystal ball.
Anyways, I think PHX and Indy might cover today, and might win SU. Just waiting for a better number. No idea about DAL/LAS, kinda like the over but not too much.

I'm feeling Dallas SU in this one. They could have won in LA, but folded in the 2nd half of that game. With they're backs against the wall, I see a different team at home.
