I think Denmark will be pleased with a draw and Germany are not totally motivated. Germany are the better team but I just can't see them going for the jugular if they go up a goal here...
Netherlands v Portugal Over 2.5 -131 (1 unit) Over 3 +126 (1 unit)
I feel square here but the Netherlands defense is suspect to say the least. Mix in their desire to put push and Portugal's potency and I think you see a lot of goals here...

Give Croatia credit where credit is due. They beat the Irish handily and snagged a point away from Italy; bravo. The problem here is the class of Spain. They were able to smother Italy in the second half by smothering Pirlo. How will they do that to Spain when they have so many different quarterbacks? They won't...
Italy v Ireland Under 2.5 +113 (1.5 units)
We all saw how the Italians played last match. They'd rather win 1-0 than 3-1. The bottom line here is that Ireland will still be just as scrappy as they were in games 1 & 2 and the Italians are only hoping for a win here; I think this could be a low, low, low scoring game...

Ibrahimovic has already said he couldn't care less about this tournament anymore. Let's take away the best player from an already subpar squad and see how they perform against a top tier side. I know that France don't need to win or need to run the score up but I don't care. The better side has to be backed here...
I'm planning on backing Ukraine tomorrow. I liked them at pk, +0.5 and now they are nearly even money at +0.5. I'll continue to let the line move and let my play get bigger and bigger. If it gets to even money I will hit it hard.

Why are England this huge of favorites to win this game outright? They are now shorter to win than France were against Ukraine and they don't even need the win. Remember how they played against France? 4 defenders, 4 defensive-minded midfielders, and 2 defensive strikers. Look for the exact same set-up tomorrow except one of the strikers will be Wayne Rooney. Who cares - they won't be in any sort of attacking formation to utilize Rooney's knack for goal scoring anyway - his return is being so overrated by the media. Ukraine are definitely the inferior side but getting a half goal here is huge in what should be an extremely low-scoring match....

ark, i cant see ukraine scoring with a banged up sheva, hodgson will have worked on the poor marking in the sweden game, he's a good defensive coach and a half goal is only useful if its 0-0!
Defensive strikers? Welbeck has found the net in 2 of the last 3 games and carroll who probably wont even start is finding form, that headed goal was awesome.

Ukraine have more threats than just Sheva even though he is the only one that has scored so far. As for England, throw everything out that you saw in the Sweden game, that's not how they will play. From the get go they were playing for the win and I just don't see them doing that tomorrow. I expect them to play like they did versus France with 11 behind the ball at all times and playing Chelsea anti-football. I wouldn't be surprised at all by a 0-0 but I wouldn't be blown away at a scoring draw or a Ukrainian surprise. Don't forget, take away Walcott from England and they probably lose to Sweden...

apart from voronin who hardly set the world alight at liverpool, i havent even heard of any of the other ukrainian players, france are the class of the group and thats why hodgson rightly parked the bus but he wont do that tomorrow, listen to his press conferences about this game.

We shall see. Even in an open game I like the half goal but who knows. I just think England are overrated here and extremely short against the host team. Like I said in my write-up, they're shorter than when France played Ukraine which is just silly. Either way, we'll find out tomorrow how it all plays out. Good luck to you.

I'd be crazy not to add a unit of France at -127. I don't understand the line movement and it doesn't scare me whatsoever. Don't forget, yesterday Spain's & Ireland's lines were moving in their favors heavily overnight and Spain took a questionable late goal to cover while Ireland didn't cover. Don't read too much into these line movements people...

Seems like the under 2.5 is the smart play for England/Ukraine, no?
I would lean under, yes. But with Ukraine being forced to press for a goal I wouldn't be surprised to see an overload of goals in the second half as they press England's fortress to create a goal.

I think this game could turn into a shootout for a few reasons....
We all saw what happens to the Czech Republic when they are forced to play catch up vs Russia - their defense gets exposed. You have to give them credit, however, because they keep pressing for a goal regardless. They have the potency to get a goal when they need it, it just comes down to their defense which, in the end, just isn't too reliable
Portugal could've scored 5 against Holland, scored 3 against Denmark, and should've scored against Germany. The bottom line is they know how to score. And, even better, when they're ahead they keep looking for more goals. Ronaldo will not track back and will be looking to get that cheap goal as we saw last match where he had break away after break away.
The Czech's best offensive threat their last two matches were their Fullbacks - especially on the right side in Selassie. When you factor in Ronaldo's lack of defense, I think this will be even more of a focal point for the Czech's to exploit tomorrow. They looked potent against Poland & Greece coming down that side and when you mix Rosicky back into the mix, I think they can get in behind the Portuguese defense.
In the end, Portugal are definitely the better side but much too short to back here. They could cover this by themselves if they get an early goal. But, I really think the Czech's will present problems for Portugal and will be able to keep up with them. I see a 2-1 type of game here.

Goals are going to be hard to come by in this one...
Germany's defense has looked awesome. Take away a late goal by the Dutch and a Boateng-less corner kick goal against the Danes and they haven't conceded a goal. Obviously, its not that simple but they have looked solid in the back. I just don't see how the Greeks will score.
Amazingly, the Greeks have actually scored in each match thus far. But look at their goals. Poland goal keeper butchers a cross and leaves the ball as a sitting duck in the box (in fairness, they earned a PK which they failed to convert so maybe they deserved at least one goal here). Petr Cech gifts them a goal in the second half against the Czechs. Russia's backward throw-in gifts them another goal just before half-time. Now, what they've lacked in impressive goal getting, they've made up for in their ability to defend a lead. Ignorant people may say Russia had 30 shots and deserved a goal against the Greeks. Wrong. I can count on one hand the number of legitimate scoring opportunities the Russians had against them - the Greeks defended very well. If you take away that terrible start against the Czechs and they've only conceded one shaky goal in this tournament.
I'm not trying to discredit any goals in this tourney because I understand - stuff happens. Not every goal will be pretty. However, I think this is a matchup of two very good defenses and only one capable offense. This should be a stingy affair; I see a 2-0 Germany win here.

Spain are probably the better team here but I'm not so sure they deserve to be laying juice to the French. What have they done this tournament? They drew 1-1 with Italy in a pretty boring match. They slaughtered the Irish - big deal. And they squeaked out a win against Croatia in a match that - in fairness - could've easily been a loss. What comes with big possession is the vulnerability to counter attacks. We saw that with Italy a little bit and saw the Croats attempt to exploit that a lot - they have a few huge chances that should've been goals. If there's one team that I would not want to let counter attack me, it would be the French with Ribery, Benzema & Nasri.
The French under performed in the first round but I can understand why. First round games are always stingy and despite outplaying England they were only able to come away with a point. They got their win against Ukraine in a match that they dominated. Then, with qualification all but assured, they flopped against an eliminated Swedish team. I really think this line is representative of that Swedish game rather than the type of team the French represent. Are they inferior to Spain? Yes. Should they be getting plus money and half a goal? Hell no.
The Spanish have lacked that killer punch going forward in their two matches against quality and I expect it continues here. I see a lower scoring match that is played cautiously with the French looked to jump onto the counter attack. This could be 1-1 going into ET.

I'll be on this a couple different ways (two advance, pk, ml, etc)...
What have England shown us exactly? Nothing. I think we can all agree they will park the bus against Italy. They did it against France and even Ukraine - both of those matches they were outplayed. Against Sweden, we saw how truly shaky their defense is when it doesn't have 11 players behind the ball. If it weren't for Theo Walcott coming in to save the day, I don't see them winning that match or the group for that matter. Even with Rooney back, I don't see goals coming from this England team.
Italy haven't exactly been all that impressive, but they've gotten the job done. When it comes to comparing them to the English, I see such a vast difference in talent its incredible. Against Spain they were an equal side for most of the match. Against Croatia they dominated half one before Pirlo was neutralized and they were outplayed in half two. Against Ireland they dominated again. I've been satisfied with five of their six halves this tourney, something I can't say about a lot of teams. Against England, they should enjoy the lot of possession and I foresee Pirlo just ripping the English defense apart from the back. His vision has been on display this tournament and this is the perfect type of match for him - England have no one to take him out of the match like Croatia did.
In the end, I know this will be a boring match. If the line weren't so low I would pound the under but at Under 2 -122 I just see no value. However, I see value in getting the Italian team at a pk for nearly even money. The draw is a great possibility so this line suits me well. I see a 1-0 type of final here.

agree with u on the over in the portugal game and even though greece are playing going under on the germans is like going under in a patriots game, theyve got so many weapons, you'll be sweating
as for england, lots of people on here have lost money on us so far, ive got a strange feeling about what the three lions might do in this competition, dont under-estimate them.
