So of those of you concerned or interested, I survived Sandy. A tree fell on my Dads car and smashed the fence, but other than that nothing that bad really happened except for no power for a week and still having no heat. Anywho, all the places I am employed have no power still, so I have just been sitting here alone in the dark. Hence, the reason for my ranting on covers, I have to much free time, already raked the backyard leaves.
Anyway, besides me some might like to know Monmouth Park surived pretty much with no problems. Few barns flooded but they moved the horses to higher ground. This hurricane really was no big deal in terms of rain, it was the wind and storm surge that sucked balls.
Lastly, its crazy to live in an area that is deemed a disaster. The national guard helicopters are flying above me, and you can find some really fed up crap happened really close to me. On sunday I helped rip apart the walls of a nice one story cottage house that had been flooded 4 feet of water because they lived on the block where the ocean and river met. 10 foot waves crashed on their neighbors house. Whats crazy is the people I helped had somewhere to go other than their home, their neighbors had 3 kids and had to live in their flooded house with practically nothing. It's crazy to see the red cross in your town and actually see first hand people who truly need help to survive. Anyway, NJ is tough and I'm sure will be back, a lot of contractors are happy there is now a SHIT TON of work to be done.
I'll be back with Parx and I think Finger Lakes race 1. Hopefully I'm not the only fool on this thing, sorry for ranting, its been a crazy week.
