No. 4 Notre Dame 21, Boston College 6:
Freshman Everett Golson threw a pair of touchdown passes and ran for another as the Fighting Irish remained unbeaten and matched their best start since 1993.

Golson threw for 200 yards and two touchdowns and Notre Dame (10-0) received another stellar performance from its defense in beating the team that ruined its last two undefeated seasons.

Theo Riddick rushed for 104 yards and had four catches for 56 yards as the Fighting Irish set the tone by methodically plowing through the Eagles (2-8) with a pair of long first-half scoring drives. Linebacker Manti Te'o led the defense, which held its fourth opponent to six points or fewer as it looks to climb in the rankings following a loss by No. 1 Alabama on Saturday.

Golson capped a 13-play, 95-yard drive on the Irish's first possession with a 2-yard run and directed a 16-play, 87-yard march that consumed 8 1/2 minutes, culminating it with a 7-yard scoring pass to Troy Niklas for a 14-3 halftime lead.

Notre Dame put the game out of reach on the opening drive of the second half, moving 65 yards on nine plays and going ahead 21-3 on Golson's 18-yard pass to John Goodman.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Te'o registered his sixth interception in the fourth quarter, setting a school single-season record by a linebacker. ... Boston College quarterback Chase Rettig finished 27-of-43 for 247 yards and an interception. ... The win marked the eighth time that Notre Dame has started a season 10-0. ... The Irish were successful on their first 11 third-down conversions.
