The visiting Spartans got four field goals from Austin Lopez and limited the Midshipmen to 144 total yards.

San Jose State's offense, which had scored at least 38 points in each game of a three-game winning streak, was led by quarterback David Fales, who completed 29 of 34 passes for 276 yards and an interception. The Spartans finished with 288 total yards.

Lopez put the Spartans (4-1) on the board early in the second quarter, then added another field goal in the third and two more in the fourth. Navy, which had only 70 rushing yards on 38 attempts, also suffered from a pair of turnovers.

It is the first time in program history that San Jose State has won four games before October.
