Missouri 24, Arizona State 20: Missouri quarterback Corbin Berkstresser, a late addition to the starting lineup, threw for 198 yards and ran for a touchdown to lead the host Tigers.

Missouri quarterback James Franklin did not play because of a shoulder injury sustained last week in a loss against Georgia. Franklin underwent surgery on the same shoulder during the offseason.

Kendial Lawrence led the running attack for Missouri with 62 yards and two touchdowns.

Missouri (2-1) scored the game’s first 17 points and led, 24-7, at the start of the fourth quarter before the Sun Devils (2-1) stormed back to close to within four points with 11:10 remaining in the game.

Arizona State quarterback Taylor Kelly started 1-for-8 passing, then completed 12 straight before throwing an incompletion on fourth-and-goal from the 3-yard line with 3:36 left. He was then intercepted with 38 seconds remaining to seal the victory for the Tigers. Kelly threw for 177 yards and was also the team’s leading rusher with 52 yards.

GAME NOTEBOOK: In three games, Arizona State has played only one quarter against the opposing team’s starting quarterback … The Sun Devils failed to convert their first eight third downs and finished 2-for-12. … Missouri was 10-for-22 on third-down conversions.
