South Florida 32, Nevada 31: Andre Davis registered 12 receptions for 191 yards, including a 56-yard touchdown pass from B.J. Daniels with 38 seconds left, as visiting South Florida rallied to beat Nevada.

Daniels, who threw for 363 yards and three scores, hit Chris Dunkley for a 52-yard touchdown with 2:37 left. He then took the Bulls 92 yards in six plays as South Florida improved to 2-0.

Nevada quarterback Cody Fajardo passed for 271 yards and a touchdown and ran for 134 yards and two scores as the Wolf Pack took a 31-20 lead with 8:16 left in the contest.

Stefphon Jefferson also rushed for 135 yards, his second straight 100-yard game to start the season for Nevada (1-1).

Nevada, coming off a big victory at California, scored touchdowns the first three times it had the ball. Fajardo ran 26 yards, fumbled into the end zone and tight end Zach Sudfeld fell on it 4:20 into the game for a 7-0 lead. Fajardo later scored on a 1-yard dive with 6:29 left in the first.

Davis caught his first of two scores, this one 51 yards, before Fajardo connected with Joseph Huber for a 29-yard touchdown to make it 21-6 with 2:58 left in the opening quarter.

Lindsey Lamar brought USF within 21-20 with a 35-yard run just 2:04 into the second half. Lamar, who was slated to redshirt earlier in the week, ran for 85 yards while replacing backup running back Marcus Shaw (ankle injury).

GAME NOTEBOOK: Nevada is 17-3 at home since 2009. … USF’s top returning receiver Sterling Griffin was taken off the field in the first half with a leg injury and did not return. … Nevada is now 5-19 against BCS teams since 1998.
