Tanner Price threw three touchdowns and Wake Forest continued its resurgence with a 35-30 home upset of No. 22 Florida State on Saturday.

Terence Davis caught two touchdowns, one from fellow wide receiver Michael Campanaro, for Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons (4-1, 3-0 ACC), coming off a disastrous 3-9 2010 campaign, are 3-0 in ACC play for the first time in school history.

The Demon Deacons dominated a Florida State team that looked flat in its first game in two weeks. The Seminoles (2-3, 0-2), who began the season ranked fifth, committed five turnovers en route to their third straight loss.

Three of Florida State’s turnovers were committed by true freshman quarterback Clint Trinkett, who got the start over E.J. Manuel. Trinkett, however, was benched late in the first half in favor of Manuel, the Seminoles’ opening-day starter who had been sidelined since suffering a sprained shoulder in Week 2.

Wake Forest never trailed after Campanaro’s 30-yard touchdown pass to Davis made it 9-7 early in the second quarter.

Price’s 8-yard scoring pass to Davis at the start of the fourth quarter gave the Demon Deacons a commanding 32-17 lead. Florida State responded just 2:13 later when Ty Jones cut the deficit to 32-24 with a 3-yard touchdown run, but Jimmy Newman kicked a 32-yard field goal and Josh Bush intercepted Manuel on the ensuing drive.

Manuel threw a late touchdown pass to Kenny Shaw, but the Demon Deacons recovered the onside kick.
