Wake Forest extended its winning streak to three Saturday, holding off Boston College’s fourth-quarter rally for a 27-19 road victory.

The Demon Deacons overcame 106 rushing yards by Boston College’s Montel Harris, who became the school's alltime leading rusher. He returned last week after missing the first three games following knee surgery.

The Demon Deacons (3-1, 2-0 ACC) used short touchdown runs by Josh Harris and Brandon Pendergrass and a 22-yard field goal from Jimmy Newman to take a 17-9 halftime lead. Tanner Price found Chris Givens for a 47-yard touchdown three minutes into the third quarter, extending the advantage to 24-9.

The Eagles (1-4, 0-2 ACC) drew within 24-16 on Chase Rettig’s 2-yard touchdown pass to Alex Amidon with 13:05 to go. Nate Freese’s 32-yard field goal brought Boston College within 24-19 with six minutes to go.

But Price found Terence Davis on a critical 44-yard pass on third-and-15 with 5:02 to go, setting up Newman’s 22-yard field goal with 2:59 left. The Eagles’ last chance ended when Rettig was stopped short on fourth down at the Wake Forest 45 with 1:43 remaining.

Freese kicked four field goals, including a career-long 52-yarder with eight seconds left in the first half.

Price passed for 256 yards for Wake Forest, which has not lost since falling in overtime to Syracuse on Sept. 1.
