Nathan Scheelhaase's 16-yard touchdown pass to A.J. Jenkins in the fourth quarter gave host Illinois a 17-14 victory over No. 22 Arizona State for its first win over a ranked opponent in four years.

Illinois scored on its first two possessions but not again until Scheelhaase, playing with an injured shoulder, connected with Jenkins down the sideline.

Arizona State quarterback Brock Osweiler was sacked six times as he was constantly hounded by the Fighting Illini pass rush. He finished with 256 yards passing, one touchdown and two interceptions. Gerell Robinson reeled in eight balls for 88 yards and one touchdown.

Illini sophomore linebacker Jonathan Brown recorded 3.5 tackles for a loss, seven tackles and 1.5 sacks.

The Sun Devils' offensive line struggled with penalties, which snuffed out key drives. Arizona State was whistled eight times for 91 yards overall.

Arizona State defensive end Junior Onyeali, the Pac-10 Defensive Freshman of the Year in 2010, left the game with an injury.

The Sun Devils fell to 15-14 versus Big Ten opponents, including 3-10 on the road. Illinois snapped a five-game losing streak against Pac-12 teams and is 3-0 for the first time since 2001.
