Recap: Syracuse 31, Cincinnati 7

Ryan Nassib threw for two touchdowns and Delone Carter rushed for 109 yards as Syracuse easily dispatched Cincinnati 31-7 on Saturday.

Antwon Bailey rushed for one touchdown and caught another for the Orange (6-2, 3-1 Big East), which forced three turnovers. Syracuse needs one win to become bowl eligible for the first time since 2004 and.also is now in the mix for the Big East title and the automatic bid to a BCS Bowl.

Nassib started the scoring in the second quarter when he hit Van Chew with a 3-yard touchdown pass. Syracuse recovered a fumble on the ensuing possession and almost coughed it back up when Adam Harris fumbled near the goal line. But Ryan Bartholomew recovered it in the end zone to push the lead to 14-0.

It was 17-7 in the third quarter when Nassib hit Bailey with a 5-yard touchdown pass. Bailey added his 1-yard rushing score in the fourth to provide the final margin.

Chazz Anderson threw for 148 yards and rushed for 66 more for the Bearcats (3-5, 1-2).
