Recap: Boise State 49, Louisiana Tech 20
Oct 26, 2010
Add another impressive victory against not-so-impressive competition to Boise State's credentials.
Doug Martin rushed for a career-high 150 yards and two touchdowns, and Kellen Moore threw two touchdown passes to lead the Broncos to a 49-20 victory over Louisiana Tech, Tuesday in Boise, Idaho.
Ranked third in the BCS standings, the Broncos (7-0, 3-0 WAC) won their 21st straight game overall and 56th straight regular-season game at home on the Blue Turf.
Moore completed 20-of-29 passes for 299 yards, including touchdown passes of 32 and 6 yards with an interception. The Heisman candidate also caught a touchdown on a reverse pass from Austin Pettis that put the Broncos up 42-13 late in the third quarter.
Louisiana Tech threw everything in the book at the heavily-favored Broncos (7-0, 3-0 WAC), from Statue-of-Liberty plays to surprise onside kicks. The Bulldogs (3-5, 2-2 WAC) went for it on fourth down six times, including three unsuccessful attempts inside Boise State's 10 yard line.
The Bulldogs closed to within 28-13 early in the third quarter and recovered a fumble deep inside Boise State territory. But coach Sonny Dykes' gamble on 4th-and-3 from the Boise 9 yard line failed, and the Broncos put the game out of reach with 21 straight points.
Louisiana Tech's Lennon Creer rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns.
