Tino Sunseri threw three touchdowns, Dion Lewis ran for 130 yards and a touchdown, and Pittsburgh scored 27 unanswered points in the second half en route to a 41-21 win over Rutgers on Saturday.

Joe Martinek had a touchdown run for Rutgers, which desperately wanted to pull off the upset for teammate Eric LeGrand, a junior defensive lineman who was paralyzed from the neck down last week while covering a kickoff.

The players had LeGrande’s number 52 and the word “believe” on the front of their helmets, while fans from both schools hung signs with get well messages. LeGrande reportedly is alert and in good spirits, but it is unclear if he will ever walk again.

The Scarlet Knights were motivated by the injury, but were also overmatched. Sunseri’s second touchdown pass to Mike Cruz gave the Panthers a 21-14 lead with 11:10 left in the third quarter and it was all Pittsburgh from then on.

Jonathan Baldwin caught five passes for 139 yards and a touchdown for the Panthers, who outgained Rutgers 513-203. Sunseri finished 21 of 27 for 307 yards.
