Recap: Alabama 24, Arkansas 20
Sep 25, 2010
Robert Lester's second interception of the day set up Mark Ingram's 1-yard touchdown run with 3:18 left, and top-ranked Alabama rallied to beat No. 11 Arkansas 24-20 Saturday in Fayetteville.
Ingram rushed for 158 yards on 24 carries, scoring on a 54-yard run in the first quarter and the 1-yard plunge in the fourth. Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy completed 18 of 26 passes for 197 yards and a touchdown, with two interceptions.
The Razorbacks needed only three plays to score on the game's first possession, and they led 17-7 at halftime. Zach Hocker's 48-yard field goal pushed the advantage to 20-7 with 5:35 left in the third quarter.
But the Crimson Tide scored on three consecutive possessions to regain the lead, turning Lester's second interception of Ryan Mallett into a three-play, 12-yard drive capped by Ingram's second touchdown of the day.
Mallett, who finished with 359 yards and a touchdown on 25-of-38 passing, threw a third interception on Arkansas' ensuing possession. McElroy converted a quarterback sneak on fourth-and-inches to seal Alabama's 28th consecutive regular-season win.
