Kevin Riley threw four touchdowns, leading the California Golden Bears to a 52-7 rout of the Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday.

Mike Mohamed returned an interception for a score and Shane Vereen added a 3-yard touchdown run for California (2-0), which forced five turnovers en route to its 35th win in the last 41 home games.

Riley finished 15-of-24 for 197 yards with touchdown passes to Vereen, Marvin Jones, Keenan Allen and Isi Sofele.

Riley and the Bears were rude guests to the Buffaloes (1-1), who will be making this trip a yearly occurrence starting in 2012 when they make the move from the Big 12 to the Pac-10.

Colorado looked overmatched from the start, as the Buffaloes turned the ball over three times and trailed 31-0 at the break. California outgained Colorado, 151-85, in the first half but it was much worse early on. The Buffaloes had -2 yards of total offense through the first 20 minutes.

Tyler Hansen completed 18-of-34 passes for 166 yards and three interceptions for Colorado, which has lost 13 straight road games. Hansen’s 4-yard scamper with 2:37 left in the third helped the Buffaloes avoid being shut out.
