Robert Griffin passed for two touchdowns and ran for two more scores as the Baylor Bears pounded the Buffalo Bulls 34-6, Saturday.
Kendall Wright and Willie Jefferson each caught a touchdown for the Bears, who have started 2-0 for the first time since 2005. Behind a healthy Griffin, Baylor is 2-0 and looking to end its 15-year bowl drought.
Griffin dominated the Bulls, out of the Mid-American Conference, from the start. Griffin finished 20-of-35 for 297 yards with one interception.
Griffin’s 43-yard touchdown pass to Jefferson made it 24-3 with 7:18 left in the second. Aaron Jones’ second field goal – a 48-yarder as time expired – gave the Bears a 27-3 half-time lead.
Griffin capped his big night with a 1-yard score with 9:30 left in the third, making it 34-3.
Wright, his favorite target, finished with five catches for 128 yards.
A.J. Principe kicked a pair of field goals for Buffalo (1-1).
