Admittedly I'm not up to speed on the Presidential Election.

Just from a couple sites on the internet, Cruz was born in Canada.

Doesn't this make him ineligible to run for US President?

Cruz's father was Cuban and his mother Irish and Italian.

He hides his temper well.

Yes Rubio is the big winner... but Trump did very well as well.

Cruz is most definitely eligible for POTUS despite being born in Canada.  He was born to US citizen parents, it does not matter what soil they were standing on.  This has been established, he is considered natural born American - same as many babies born in Germany to enlisted military families in the late 60's and early 70's

Cruz is a panderer to the bible thumpers, I don't care for him.  He changes with the political trade winds.  Cruz' candidacy will soon falter and it will become Trump vs Rubio.  Just watch NH and SC - this will become apparent.

So Trump likes to throw this Cruz citizen issue around although it's perfectly Constitutional.

Trump throws this around to create doubt... and it has worked to some degree.  Trump does have some legs to stand on because this has never been challenged by the courts, and Trump correctly points out that the DNC will try to challenge this in the courts if Cruz becomes the nominee

The law was passed legislatively... never challenged by courts.  So it remains a bit of a question until heard.

For those of you who do not know how abrasive Cruz's smug, supercilious, self-righteous Bible-thumping personality is, be aware that the search string -- Cruz hated by fellow Senators -- generates 2.6 million results on Safari using Bing.

Put me on the list of being critical of Cruz. I don't like his mannerisms, his funny shaped head, or his tactics.

If those stories are true then I like him even less.

What he said... I also don't care for his pandering to the bible thumpers - he is a fake, a shame to the GOP.  I'm not worried, his candidacy is about to fall apart

While I would love to think that Cruz's campaign is "about to fall apart," that map tells a different story.  A Southern Baptist might be popular in every southern state except Catholic-heavy Florida.

Consider the challenge to the Canadian thing.There are several working through the Court system.There is even 1 from a Texas Lawyer (Tea Party) that has proof that  Cruz's parents registered and voted in Canadaian Election of 1974 after Ted was born in Canada in 1970. Only residents of Canada are allowed to vote so who became citizens and when did they do it?
Don't mind that Cruz doesn't get along with Senate, 1/2 the (R) are RINOs and the rest are progressives.

I'm not going to bad mouth any of them b/c whoever wins the nomination I will be supporting over Bill Clinton's wife or the socialist from Vermont.

BTW, I see Daryl's back from his most recent six month hiatus.

Let's see if Daryl is a bigger man than me and ignore what I just posted.

It's interesting to see you are still tracking my posting like a psychostalker, old habits die hard I guess.

It's even more interesting that when I'm posting something you don't like, you start to unravels resort to name calling,  what does Darryl mean anyways? Weird... weird old habits die even harder I guess.

Agreed. Maybe it just is the "funny shaped head" or the weird eyebrows, but I just can't warm up to the guy or his politics. After watching 2 of the debates in their entirety, I liked Christie the best, and Rubio next. It seems like Rubio will be the only one to have a shot at the nomination. I'd be good with that.

I think with Cruz it's the likability factor,  more precisely the fact that he is not likable.


But with him in the lead he appears to be what the GOP voting base seems to think best represents and resonates with them.  Well him and trump.

It's interesting to see their values put on display to the whole nation and world

Interesting that you can see it very clearly in others, but are very oblivious to that same trait in yourself.

Unlikeable. You and Ted share that same negative trait even though you are on opposite sides of the aisle.

Cruz is as eligible to run as republican presidential candidate as Obama years ago.  Parties do scrutinize potential candidates to determine whether they qualify or not.

Nothing you said is wrong, but that is not the end of the story.  The fact is that it has never been heard by the courts, and it is hard to predict how that might go.  My guess is the courts would uphold, but the fact is we don't know.
