Don't forget about New Jersey who can leapfrog over the Jackets with a win and a Columbus loss.
But yes...Pens can clinch 2nd in the Metro with 1 point tonight.

Assuming Pens win tonight and lock up 2nd, which they should, Philly should play hard tomorrow vs NYR no matter what just to get in the playoffs at 3 pm - assume that as a win as well for this scenario, that would put Philly at 98 points and in 3rd place at approx. 6 pm Saturday. We know 2nd and 3rd play each other in the first round - so....would there be any motivation or lack of for either NJ or CBJ at 7 and 8 pm for positioning reasons? If so, please explain, if any one can, who would or wouldn't want to play each other in the 1st round? (This could lead to an easy pick tomorrow night?)I don't mean to be asking to be spoon fed info, but I think others might benefit from any explanations you guys might have? Thanks in advance

Like you said...assuming that the Pens win tonight, Columbus, Jersey and Philly will all begin the playoffs on the road. They will each face one of Pittsburgh, Washington or Tampa/Boston (whomever finishes on top). Pick your poison, pretty much.

That's what I'm basically asking is do you guys know if and who doesn't want to face some one - like would CBJ or NJ WANT to face Pit or prefer to lose tomorrow to face some one else instead of Pit which could possibly be controlled by tomorrow night's outcomes?
In other words - who dominated who in the regular season which would make them NOT want to face a certain team.

Pretty sure, silently, be it wise or not, they would all want to play the gutless, choke artist Capitals whom during the Ovechkin era have NEVER made it past the second round of the playoffs......
Good example - the 2nd WC would play the Caps - so if Philly wins at 3 pm tomorrow, they would be in 3rd in their Division with 98 pts. - NJ and CBJ have 97 going into their Sat night games. Who of the 2, NJ and CBJ, would prefer the Caps over the Pens and want to stay in WC position instead of reclaiming 2nd - OR am I just trying to read into this too much?
