What do we do with the Giants now…

So where do we go with this Giants team now?? Many of us thought that yesterday would be the letdown spot. It certainly wasn’t. In all reality I have to credit the Giants with a win yesterday. They dominated that game and I feel that the entire blame for the loss should be put on the coaching staff. They did EVERYTHING that they could do to lose that game in the fourth quarter. The game was over if it was coached correctly…

So here we go again against the Eagles. The Eagles, I believe, are going to start dominating. I’ve seen this movie before with Philly and the slow sloppy starts to the season. The defense underperforming, the offense, particularly Hurts looking like they’re taking a step backwards…and then BAM! The Eagles absolutely explode on both sides of the ball and become the undoubtably best team in the league. 

So the question is what to expect in this week 8 matchup. I’m now officially on the Jaxson Dart hype train. I thought he would get pummeled yesterday and he looked like an absolute pro once again. The Giants offensive line by the way was extremely impressive yesterday in protection. So let’s assume that Dart continues playing well and that also Philly starts really clicking. What do you guys make of the line? A full 7 again being given to these Giants? From a team that just got whipped by them 2 weeks ago? 

I am working on updating my personal power rankings and haven’t gotten that far yet, but I highly doubt that the line I come up with is 7 or higher. My only concern with taking the G Men is that last week’s supposed let down is coming this week. Do the Eagles put a beating on them this time around? Or are the Giants going to be feisty again??

 The Broncos had over 400 yards on offense.  Nobody dominated them.

I think Giants need a new coach. They definitely have their future Qb in Dart.

Feels like two steps forward and three steps back with that atrocious loss. I agree that Philly is heating up. They won't overlook the Giants this time after getting beat so recently. Probably some giants pointing fingers now at coaches 

Did you watch the first three quarters? I understand that it’s a four quarter game, but it took a complete meltdown to allow 33 4th quarter points and a victory.

My takeaway from yesterday's game is that the result we saw is more an indictment against Denver coaching than anything the Giants did. I will give them credit for being scrappy, but Denver just slept for most of the game and had a terrible gameplan. 

We saw once again a situation where passing up an easy field goal early in the game almost cost them. Denver was down only 13-0 early and decided to go for it on 4th and goal from the 2. Why? Give your opponent all the momentum if you dont get it and that is 3 pts you will need later. You have a good defense and are facing a team that is not exactly an offensive juggernaut. Just take the 3. 

My point is Denver shouldve never been in a position to lose this game and couldve and shouldve easily covered. Even late Giants took the lead based 2 insanely bad penalties and 2, count em 2, dropped interceptions. 

Eagles have Jalen Carter back this time which makes a huge difference. The last time they played Eagles were coming off a bad loss and had to go to NY on a Thursday. This time they are home and coming off a win. I think the Philly defense will make it very difficult for Dart like what we saw at the end of the Denver game. 

We definitely need to adjust the Giants upward when we consider lines, but this is a smash spot for Eagles.

 Context is everything.

Denver just had the longest road trip ever to play an NFL game. Most teams take off the week after Europe games; Denver chose not to. they are the first Mountain or Pacific time zone team to not take a bye.

Now, that being said, I think the Giants are a lot better than most have them credit for. Their biggest downfall is Brian Daboll. NO ONE makes poorer in game coaching decisions than Daboll. His poor coaching hit Epic proportions yesterday. Play calling was ABYSMAL. Dart is the real deal. Didn't he learn from the Dallas game? Hasn't he been burned by Gano enough already? Gano has cost him 6 games already.

They should have fired Daboll, and signed Vrabel. This team would be in first right now.

Most of the times, rookie QB first couple games are like beginner luck at casino.

 Most of them in the 4th quarter when giants lost adebo and holland and weirdly played 8 back. Giants up 19-0 at 1 point. They choked it broncos and win it.

I watched the game.  I know what happened.  You can say the Giants outplayed Denver.  You can say the Giants should have won the game.  You cannot say they dominated a team that scored 33 points and had over 400 yards of offense. 

I had it just a touch lighter at 6.5, but yes I'd lay it. Im gonna wait and see if it maybe gets bet down at some point

Denver was its first game back after a roadie to Philly, then the London game, and then finally back to Denver for this game. I’m a Denver fan and took Giants plus the 8. There was no way Denver was going to be ready for that game. Luckily they sloughed off the jet lag for one quarter. Traveling overseas is rough. I love this Giants team with Dart at QB. It is just what the need. 

First NFL start against the Chiefs who were 0-2. 

They had FIVE turnovers in the loss to NO. Sometimes that shit just happens and you gotta throw those games away. Rare for a team to turn it over five times several times a year. 

I cannot believe the Broncos came back.  The Giants had to do everything wrong and the Broncos had to do everything right in that 4th Quarter. 

Denver is due one of those games after losing both their games with zero seconds on the clock. It’s the NFL.  

Philly had letdown game..they will demolish that cocky team..that QB and RB are all hype they think they are so special and they arent! Deserved to lose!

Lets go Philly show them who you are and how they are!

giving up 33 pints, damn near 3 pts/min, in an nfl quarter where clock rarely stops and losing the game is a fireable on the spot offense especially since the coach should have been on the hot seat for years.
