Hello all. In a very strange season where, as Scott Hanson says, wins become losses and losses become wins…a thought.
There are too many teams that are just going through the motions. Every NFL player is super physically gifted. I separate the NFL athlete as follows:
Top 10%… above the radar. Born with unbelievable skills.
Bottom 10%…hanging on with determination.
The remaining 80%… need to be motivated, properly, by coaching.
I haven’t researched it fully, but the players chosen in the draft have most likely come from programs that were successful in college D 1. The recent story of a player sleeping through the walk around preparing for his team’s upcoming game, led me to the following. His school had a three year combined record of 34-8. He is now playing for a team that is 2-9 in the NFL. He has a fully guaranteed contract worth $45.3 million. He has never experienced losing! Why should he try? Sleeping?
Coaching, coaching, coaching. Remember Albert Haynesworth? If, not…look it up.
Good luck all. Be back next week!
