Both teams need this win but Dallas is still in a realistic position of potentially making an appearance in the post season. I feel the edge goes to Dallas given they are coming out of a bye week which provides much needed rest and recoup to those players who are banged up, while allowing an extended period of time to focus and execute a winning strategy specifically for this primetime game.
Dallas’ pick ups prior to trade deadline inject some much needed talent on the defensive front and LB positions…and although I don’t believe one or two athletes can change the overall impact of a specific unit individually, I do believe success does breed success and collectively, they can be a better defensive unit with their presence and expected impact on that side of the ball.
I also feel that Dallas will be playing with an extra gear tonight, devoting this game to their fallen brother.
A side note, Dallas’ kicker has an incredibly strong leg and is pretty accurate having made a 65 yard FG with what seemed to have even more legs to it. He’s also made the most 50+ yard FGs in the franchise’s history so that shortens the field for Dak & company, and gives them an advantage to secure points that always seem to come at a premium during those tough fought battles.
There’s no doubt Las Vegas is better since the return of Bowers, but I just have a hard time getting excited backing Geno Smith and with the addition of Williams on the other side of the ball tonight, I think he’ll have more trouble than he would originally have had if he wasn’t in the game.
My picks tonight are:
DALLAS -3 (bought hook)
DALL/LV u49 (bought hook)
That said, I can’t help but remember what a local bookie told me many years ago when I asked him where they usually lose the most and his response was, the ML on the Hometown Dog, especially when the line is at or around 3.

Quinnen Williams O2.5 Sacks +1100 for a small play
Dallas keeps pouring on points which has Geno playing off his back foot for the 2nd half of the game, giving Williams an opportunity to add to his already stellar debut as a Cowboy.
