How injured is the kid? He looks pretty nimble on the sidelines.
Yep, they are hiding him on the sidelines as long as possible. I don't ever recall him being injured during his last game vs Atlanta. News came out the next morning that he had a high ankle sprain
Big mistake by O'Connell letting Darnold go who was finally starting to develop into a solid NFL QB. Not easy finding good NFL QB's and they put all the chips on JJ McCarthy ![]()

O’Connell let his ego take him to this place. He thought he could turn any QB into a star. I am a Viking fan and I said when they took J.J in the first round he would be a bust. They were trying to trade up to get other QBs that draft. Who the hell scouted J.J from Minnesota seriously. GM and Coach are at fault for this disaster of a year. The playoffs are lost let alone getting to a Super Bowl. At this point trade for Cousins. O’Connell is also to blame for not taking Rodger’s who wanted to play for him and they chose to say no. Rodger’s with Jefferson,Addison, Hockenson and. Jones are you kidding me. What the hell was Minnesota’s brass thinking handing the keys over to McCarthy! Thank you for wasting a year. What really is the worst is everyone knows a rookie QB getting to a Super Bowl just doesn’t happen.

@My4Girls
I forget that he even webt in the first round. There was a run on QBs and JJ was a panic buy. He was selected two spots before Bo Nix. ![]()
There's nobody that watched him at Michigan that thought he was a first round prospect.

Exactly my thoughts. KOC has been called QB proof. Thinks he can plug anybody in there and be successful. Comical considering QB is the most important position in sports.

Not only that, they gave up a 4th and a 5th to move up one spot (11th to 10th) to grab him. They honestly should've been looking to move down. Or just stood pat and drafted Bo Nix. After Nix, Brock Bower went. Then there were multiple wide receivers and defensive players that went late 1st round and into the 2nd round. I watched a fair amount or Michigan when JJ was there. The team had success, and won a Natty, but at no point did JJ look like an NFL QB. We saw this with Georgia too, with guys like Stetson Bennett. It's shocking someone took JJ in the Top 10.

Not a fluke. They played trash Browning and the Bengals turned it over 5 times. It was a Bengals bad loss not a vikings good win
